Oh Benneli is by far the better shotgun, here is my desert camo Super Nova with a few of my 45's. The ghost ring sights are awesome. I installed a rail should I decide to put a scope on it.

I haven't shot an 870 myself but have shot plenty of Mossbergs and I prefer my Nova. |

I just saw today that Big 5 has the 590 (not A1) 9-shot 'security' shotgun on sale for $359 here: http://big5sportinggoods.shoplocal.c...id=-2088705927
Is there really a big difference between 590 and 590A1? What about 590 and 500? (I only ask because a couple of weeks ago Big 5 had the same 9-shot 'security' 500 for sale at $259). I almost wished I waited on my purchased and checked this gun out. But I'm still happy with purchasing the Benelli SuperNova. |

Not sure but I think the major difference between M590 and M590A1 is that the M590's trigger guard is plastic, and the M590A1's trigger guard is steel.

Specifications that include a heavy-walled parkerized barrel, metal trigger guard assembly, metal safety button, and an upgraded magazine tube that can easily be opened for cleaning and is readily adaptable for a magazine extension. I chose a 590A1 Mariner at least in part for these reasons as a built tough shotgun that I'll never wear out. It sports a full factory stock which I have no interest in changing, although I did just buy an IST Biothane sling to mount on the included sling studs. YMMV... |

Picked up my SuperNova today after being in 'gun jail' for the past 10 days. Threw on the LimbSaver slip-on pad (the precision pad doesn't work on the tactical Benelli stocks) and put on the Nordic Components +2 magazine extension. Gave it a good cleaning and then went to the range to put 40 shells through it. The gun fires like a champ and it's extemely smooth and easy to use. Much better than the Mossberg 500 I shot a month ago, and the GRS put my slugs right on target. It was very easy to hit dead on at a stationary target at 50 yards. My shoulder feels good as I don't feel a thing (the LimbSaver pad is extremely soft, where as the factory Benelli pad is as hard as a rock).
Here's a quick pic that I took tonight before heading off to the range. I don't plan on doing much to the gun by putting extra crap on it. I might add a flush rail on top, or possibly a Nordic Components magazine clamp with rail. But otherwise I like how the gun looks right now... clean, simple, and effective.
