Yep. Criminals have access to cars and public transit the same as everybody else. It bugs me when people assume that they only raid their own neighborhoods.

You kill people in your own hood. You rob people in the rich area.

wow thank you for this link . I'd probably buy this and read it. Money in nothing when it comes to liability. Better spend some money and time to read rather than be in jail.

prison break? i think this is what happened. due to budget cuts, the prison realeased people. a c/o knew of a real dummy. so he put him together and said hey if you get me some cash i can get you out of here. the dummy got some cash together and gave it to the c/o. when the dummy's normal release came up the c/o opened the door and told him to "run, quick, hurry, get the f*k out of here", he did and took off not knowing he'd just been released otherwise. duh, duh, duh-mey! this is a joke so don't think i'm implying anything about c/o's. but the dummy in prison thing might be true.

justified shooting? remember this is california. even if, and that's a big if, you don't get convicted of criminal charges you can still be sued by the dumb dumb's family for a wrongful death suit.

Bad experience happen everywhere. Both in good and bad neighbourhoods. I have makeshift articles of protection laying about for the unsuspecting in cases like this.
Be safe out there. -g

Congratulations Man! You got there first.

We also are not calGUN. One isn't enough. They get lonely. Unfortunately they don't reproduce without legal tender.

Wait. Neither do we.

I think you have a lot of reading to do akoba. I can sympathize with your situation. When I first came to this site I had a ton of questions... There really is no simple answer, especially in California. We just have to bear down, do a lot of reading, and a lot of thinking. There are some smart guys here with a lot of knowledge on the subject... I always make it a habit to read the Second Amendment forum on this site because the tidbits of wisdom pop up in nearly every thread, no matter how arbitrary or seemingly limited in scope the thread topic.

Understand that it is not all hopeless. There is a myth that I myself once believed, that we have no legal means of a self defense shooting in California. I have also heard people say that we are legally bound to run first, and yet I find this nowhere in the law.

Did you not believe everyone else when they said the same thing? Think their incidents are few and far between? They do not care about you! you must defend yourself.

Sorry to hear about the bad experience, but am happy to hear everyone is ok. For future reference; 911 is for after the badguy has new holes.

Rosemont is the ghetto. That being said you should remember that the police have no duty to protect you, the Supreme Court agrees.

Justices Rule Police Do Not Have a Constitutional Duty to Protect Someone

WASHINGTON, June 27 - The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that the police did not have a constitutional duty to protect a person from harm, even a woman who had obtained a court-issued protective order against a violent husband making an arrest mandatory for a violation.

It's been over five months since this thread started. Are y'all still waiting for the police?

There was a thread a few days back about why we have HD guns. This is why.

Someone trying to break into your home when they know you're in there and don't want them in is not "real danger"?

Please... what is "real danger" to you?
