run8, very nice. Is there any logic to the collection? I currently have 5 mosins, 2 Chinese T53's, 1 Russian M44, 1 Finn M39 and 1 91/59 that just arrived today. I need to go open the box and check out the 91/59. There's so many different variables to these rifles, you could end up with hundreds of them.

Very nice collection. Now study up on the Mfg / Aresnel / Date/, you may have some rare birds there.

Well, yes and no on the logic part.

I was thinking get a 91/30 for every year of the war from each arsenal.

Same for the M38's up until introduction of the M44, each arsenal for each year.

Then I read on the Finnish, thought okay one from each arsenal on the M39's.

Then I got the P27, which was really nice, think that's 18 something as I only needed my DL for that one to buy it.

Now my plans on my German Mauser collection is to get one from each arsenal for each year up until the end of WWII, that will be a huge undertaking.

run8, oh geez. Good luck! What would you do about M39's? Can't just go Sako -> Tula, Sako -> Izhevsk, what about Sako -> SKY -> on an antique receiver? LOL, lots of potential combinations. Personally, I'd love a matching #'s M39 SKY on an antique receiver and SKY wartime stock. A 1943 dated M44 used in the trials would be nice too.

I love Mosins 91-30s. They are cheap, powerful, easy to maintain (cheapness), rugged (cheapy cheap cheap!), and cheap!

I want to build up a collection of 100 of them, so I could have a rifle rack like that. And then have all my friends and family take them out to the range and fire all of them at once. Just buy a canister of 880 rounds of surplus and we are all good to go like these guys.

That was sweet, I bet it was loud as all get out with that many mosin's firing at once. I go on a desert trip once a year with some friends, I was planning on bringing as many guns and ammo as I can fit into the truck, enough for all 12 of us to play.

No, I try and shoot everything I own, I just can't get to the range as much as I'd like.

whats that joke?

When you have a Mosin you got 5 rounds of a long range weapon.
When you run out of ammo.
You now have a medium range weapon
