It's possible/likely that your surplus is loaded hotter than current production rounds, magnifying its tendency to slap you. Given the time and place (and budget) of their creation, however, none of these old giggle-beasts are gonna be as refined as an Ed Brown 1911. My recommendation would be proactively applying a small band-aid to the trigger finger when you have more than one box of 7.62x25. ('cuz shooting gloves are, well, 'pretentious...' )

Oh, and try to get the farthest lane to the right -- the fewer range mates downstream of the ejection port, the better!

My son say's all three of our 52's slap's but I never get it. I tend not to pull the trigger with my finger tip. More toward the crease at the first knuckle.
