i'd stay away form this one. it's on the big side, aside from the weight, it throws your optics/sight choices off a bit. if you go with a standardized sized forearm then you can trade out parts in the future and not get stuck.

I am really not sure which one I am going to get. Kinda leaning towards vltor casv-el. But not sure if I want to keep the normal front iron sights or not.

Take a look at Daniel Defense or LaRue instead.

there are 4 rails that will screw with your optic mount choices if you want them to be compatible with other rails for possible future builds. POF, VLTOR's CASV, A.R.M.S. SIR System, and H&K's HK416. these are all taller than pretty much everybody else's forearms and make matching optic mounts for co-witness a pain. if you don't intend on swapping rails, then by all means go with the CASV. i love that thing.

now if you want something that you can interchange parts with in the future, i'd seriously look at anything else. not on a budget? go with daniel defense, larue, troy, SWS, PRI, knight's armament, etc. on a budget, look at VTAC, MI, or yankyee hill.

I like the raised rail cuz I have a fat head. Makes getting a better check weld from experience.

i have the POF but however they do make rail BUS so that Co witness wont be a problem however because it is taller you tend to exhaust your self on the adjustments on certain optics. me personally i like the ARMS and POF rail better then the CASV it looks too much like a tin can for my taste
