I got my $.19 deposit today for my bank verification.
I think I screwed up.
It's been so long since I signed up for Paypal that I forgot the verification procedure... I thought that I was to specify the deposit amount FROM my bank INTO my Gunpal account, so I put a couple of figures in there.
My bank account now shows as status "disabled" and I no longer have a "confirm" link displayed.

GP will put a small deposit in your account. You type in that deposit number to verify your account with GP.

For the record I do not have a GP account, just answering the question.

Ah, you probably locked the account - we do this to prevent anyone from being able to brute-force the confirmation procedure and steal your $

If you haven't yet just submit a support request and the boys will get you taken care of!

Cool... I haven't sent one yet, I figured I'd wait for the deposit to show and then try again.

I put up a post on the Auction Arms discussion board today. First responses were generally.. "It's about time !"
Art, I have Manny's {A A Pres.} e-m address if you want to write to him.

Are we going to have flyers for GunPal like we did for AB 962 that we can pass out to vendors and the public at the gun shows?

I signed up last Thursday, but still haven't been able to verify my checking account - the small deposits haven't shown up yet.

I'll use it wherever / whenever I can.

Those buggers still take anywhere from 3-5 business days depending on how fast your bank is. In 2009 things should be instant!

I like the idea!

PayPal just flat out blows. I'll look into the GP fee schedule and go from there. May even put the payment method up on my site!

Personally my feeling is that since it is named GunPal it would be a little wired to sell something not related to firearms and use it as a payment method. Buy this computer we accept GunPal! I would have used some other kind of name and not tried to rhyme with PayPAL - GunPAL. Who knows only time will tell.

If it was a choice accepted by an eBay seller I would use it over PP every time on an eBay transaction.

Maybe you can get baen to allow its use for buying ebooks. I buy a fair number of them there.

Buying or selling ebooks is absolutely a permissible use of GUNPAL. Most (but not all, see our AUP) things are acceptable on our platform, as long as they are legal.

Paypal isn't that quick either.

They're pretty quick about getting refund transactions back to you, but it takes a bit for payment. 10 days sounds long though.

Looks like it pulled a fast one. Just logged on, and they cleared and now sitting in my GP account. Weird though how it said funds will be released on Nov. 10 tho!

Mine took 2 or 3 working days... signed up Thursday night and the deposits were in when I checked this morning. They may have been posted yesterday but I didn't check.

I was going to use GunPal for the first time, to buy some items from a user here on CalGuns...but that user refused to accept GunPal, and wanted PayPal instead.

I have never, and will not ever use paypal for firearms-related equipment.

It's going to get even quicker - we've revised our policies on holding funds and in general will not be doing it anymore!
