Just got email confirmation from octanemunitions.com and budsgunshop.com that they both will ship to FFL03+COE.
The list is growing!!!
For Octane Munitions, send and email to info@octanemunitions.com with FFL03, COE, and ID/Driver license to be kept on file.

I emailed Larry Potterfield, Founder and CEO (larrypotterfield@midwayusa.com) a few weeks ago but never got any answer.
I do not understand why Midway does not care about its customers in California?
Midway USA knows that they are losing money .. and that's even more bizarre .. ??

They have so much resources, it would take them a very minimal amount of time to setup an automatic online signup system for California FFL03 + CoE.

I'm guessing they have corporate lawyers calling the shots on this. Maybe they figure that it's better to err on the side of caution rather than face a Million Dollar lawsuit (imaginary or not) from the CA DOJ. I can imagine this cowardly Corporate Attorney laying down a piece of paper in front of Larry with the probable profits for ammo in CA and the probable costs of a California law suit.

Or maybe not, maybe they just hate California.

I betcha that as time goes by more and more online ammo dealers will accept the COE / 03 FFL exemption as they see other companies making California profits without any difficulties.

I can confirm that subsequent orders from Brownells do not require you to send them anything again. They must be keeping it on file. Just place your order as normal, sit back, and wait for ammo to show up

Thanks to everyone for putting this list together. As to the big guys, Brownells gets all my business. Will never buy from Midway again. Even if they are the sole distributor, I'll buy another brand. No excuse for their behavior.
There are lots of good companies willing to stay with us. They are the ones I will support. Brownells got way out in front with their Retro line of rifles, not that it helps us much here but they really put some work into that project and I think it will pay off for them.
I was surprised at how helpful Southern Ohio Gun was, they made it easy for me
to get on their list for shipments.

if nobody has said it yet...add Ammofast to the list

California Due to new CA regulations all ammunition will need to be shipped to a licensed FFL holder or a FFL03 and Cert. of Eligibility holder. Please have your FFL or ammunition vendor forward a copy of their license to contact@ammofast.com or fax to 855-297-4404. Please reference order number when sending FFL or license. Failure to do so could possibly delay shipment. No sales to the cities of Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento or San Francisco.

Pardon if this is a repeat...www.budsgunshop.com and sgammo.com will both ship to an FFL.

Unfortunately, not so for Natchez because as the guy explained, they cant because they are a direct distributor to retail outlets.

This thread is only about shipping direct to the homes of 03 FFL holders, aka C&R FFLs. This is not a thread about who will ship to a regular FFL dealer.

So I've been trying to order more .460 (which nobody locally carries the loads I want apparently) and I'm increasingly frustrated by the inability to get it shipped anywhere. Is there any way around paying a $25 transfer fee on a box of 20 rounds??

Yes there is.

Git yourself a Curio and Relic 03 FFL and a CA DOJ COE and get ammo shipped to your door. [As long as you don't live in a City that has a local prohibition.]

Easy. Get some bullets and powder and primers and reload them yourself. If you aren’t a reloader come over, I’m southbay too, I’m fully set up for 460. I shoot more 460 than any other pistol. Between bass pro and Reeds you can find anything you need short of something crazy boutique like a 740 grain bullet load (that wo’t fit an xvr anyways )

Save the transfer fee for bulk buys of high consumption ammo.

Yes, the 460 is an easy round to reload. Mild to wild, haha!!

And this ^ too. So easy to get both of those pieces of paper, and so cheap to maintain them.

Theyve come in so handy over the years. If youre a gun owner in CA, theyre about mandatory now, IMHO.

Please ad Georgia Arms to the list.
I made a phone call to them yesterday before an order. They asked me to send in my FFL03+COE to get it on file. They are my goto for 357 SIG.
Send Docs to:gaarms@bellsouth.net
http://www.georgia-arms.com
Thanks,
PatC

Thanks for the contribution to the list. Georgia Arms has been added and your post has been linked as confirmation. If you have any info on what their process or procedure is please edit your post to help others know what to expect when they place an order.

I might just take you up on that.

I've considered multiple times to get started reloading, but between the startup cost and the challenge of finding space to store stuff, it really just hasn't been feasible for me.

PM any time.

I started for super cheap. I found someone in gilroy getting rid of the basics for cheap on craigslist. Everything else happened over time.

A decent single stage press plus everything you need will fit in a large shoebox. one 4" drawer on a craftsman toolbox. Think about that 4" tall drawer on a 29" craftsman toolbox. You can fit everything you need to make ammo in that space including powder, bullets, everything. A small boot box from container store would hold everything with room to spare.

like others pointed out, get a C&R FFL03 + COE and search through the list of friendly ammo supplier (page 1 of this thread).
I started searching for you and ammo.com will ship to your door once you have obtained the FFL03 + COE. Click here to see their 460 ammo. I do not know if their prices are competitive or not and I am not endorsing them.
Here is another dealer who will ship 460 to your door.
You can continue the search through the whole list on page 1 and check if other friendly ammo dealers have 460 ammo. All the ammo dealers on page 1 will ship to you as long as you have a FFL03 + COE.

I will start working through that list and report on which will send to Contra Costa County - (Legally, it should be all if you live in the city limits, as I understand the stupid law) since there is some ban on shipping ammo to unincorporated areas in CCC. (I'll ask about other typically banned cities - Oakland, SF, Sac, so on, as well).

I'll let folks know - if anyone else has done this please PM me so I can stop.

I like PSA so I sent them the following kick in the ***:

"Please forward to John Legare – National Sales Manager.

I have been a loyal PSA customer but I request that you guys get your act together for California. Your competitors like TargetSports, SG Ammo and 20 others have all started shipping to FFL-03 holders in CA in compliance with the new law. You should too.

Many of your employees are telling us that you will ship to CA with the correct FFL-03 and California COE. But members at Calguns.net report that sales are being blocked by John Legare who has not researched the laws yet. To make this simple please follow this link to the new CA laws and look at Section c(6). It states that the restrictions on shipping amount do not apply to those of us with a FFL-03 license (Curios and Relic Collector) plus a valid California Certificate of Eligibility: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/f...ctionNum=30312.

Many of us would like to keep doing business with PSA but will stop soon if this is not addressed. Others allow us to upload our documents to our accounts or simply request them at time of order. CA is a huge market. Please keep serving it."

If I get a response I will post

It's an old law that was written to apply to a now closed store on public land in an unincorporated part of town - I am not sure the context of if I am 100% correct, but what I DO know is that some online retailers will NOT ship to the county. Even though Cabelas (possibly one of the most conservative in terms of following laws to the T or even above and beyond) will ship.

Note -Cheaper than Dirt will not ship ANY ammo or Guns to California - FFL or no.

UPDATE:

AIM SURPLUS said they will not ship C&R Handguns to CA (but that's the law, no?)

But they WILL ship Longguns and Ammo to your door (ammo requires COE).

They have excellent cutomer service and fast shipping times.

Also - their prices with shipping are cheaper that most places I know, but not all on that list, there are better deals, but AIM is one of the best places, IMO.

I just wanted to answer you as well - a shop CAN charge you only the california Tax - that is what my local shop does. They hold the ammo, call me when it's there and I show them the invoice, I pay the local taxes, buy some things, and leave.

Most stores are not this nice. They will sometimes charge a flat fee + percent. I think 10% is reasonable (covers local taxes and leaves them some cash for their time - though I ALWAYS buy something from the shop when I do this).

If I get a response I will post
thats exactly who i was emailing and talked to on the phone he asked me to provide him something that info. i sent him exactly what you just posted and he has ignored me since sending it back on Feb 8

I have approached both expertammo.com and surplusammo.com about shipping to California FFL 03 holders with COE. Both are very interested in being able to ship to California again but were not quite sure exactly how the whole FFL 03 w/COE worked, so I sent them a link to the penal code. Surplus Ammo also asked to see my COE, which I will send them when I receive the FFL 03. I will follow up here once I get their final decisions.

Anyone know how to get hold of anyone at MidwayUSA? I wanted to see if they've reconsidered their position on shipping to u s, but now no one is responding...

I guess that could be an answer in and of itself, or it could just be an ignorant person getting the email and not passing it on to someone who might be able to actually make a decision.

I just received this email from Surplus Ammo (below) and I don't think there is much more than I can do to satisfy his need for info from the CADOJ. Sounds like he has been in trouble with the CAAG in the past and wants to be double dog sure he won't get in any trouble. Any lawyer types care to contact him to clarify? surplusammoorders@gmail.com

If any one of those guys on Calguns wants to help us figure this out, or if we just get a link to CA DOJ's explanation of what we all have to do, we'll just do it. Problem is I'm down to just a couple of us now here in the office and honestly don't have time to sort this out. I've looked and been looking since before the end of the year for all of the new "official" rules on this change and so far had not been able to find it, at least not something actually official I can trust won't accidentally "earn" me another CA AG phone call. I've mostly found either some incomprehensible legal speak but mostly just articles generally talking about what's changed. Also we're hearing back that more and more local CA gun stores WON'T take ammo transfers, so the anti's are winning overall. So if I can at least ship to 03's, then maybe that will be the new process most CA gun owners have to go through to re-achieve their God-given rights. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if ATF gets flooded with 03 applications since that might be the path to getting your ammo other than the higher priced (apparently) local ammo option. Finally, we've also heard that mid-2019 ammo sales then require a $Q@#$#% background check. That's just insane, and will push whatever method of getting around these new laws, like getting an 03 and COE, into even greater numbers. It is an insane thing that to get around a state's unconstitutional restrictions on a right, you have to get a federal license to help you out. You have to register with the federal government just to get ammo, never thought I'd see the day to be honest. Anyway, appreciate the help bud.
