What is the course requirement now? DG in 4DHG or SB within the past 2 years still?

DG 4DHG or SB AND "new" Tactical handgun Course. I believe the "2 year rule" still applies.

Default Advanced Tactical Handgun Requirements

Attend a 4-Day Defensive Handgun, achieve a Distinguished Graduate Certificate in 4-Day Defensive Handgun or Handgun Skill Builder, and attend the 2-Day Tactical Handgun.

For Advanced Tactical Handgun you have to achieve Graduate or DG in 4 Day Handgun, or 2 Day Handgun Skill Builder, AND take Tactical Handgun.

Straight from the website and seems to be in line with what members are reporting on the ground:

2 Day Tactical Handgun
Attend a 4-Day Defensive Handgun and achieve a Graduate Certificate in 4-Day Defensive Handgun or Handgun Skill Builder.

2 Day Advanced Tactical Handgun
Attend a 4-Day Defensive Handgun, achieve a Distinguished Graduate Certificate in 4-Day Defensive Handgun or Handgun Skill Builder, and attend the 2-Day Tactical Handgun.

4 Day Handgun Combat Master Prep
This course is open to all students who hold a Distinguished Graduate certificate in the 4-Day Defensive Handgun course AND have attended the Tactical Handgun and Advanced Tactical Handgun courses.

Interestingly, if you change the "v2" to "v3", you get a flow chart showing what the prerequisites are to obtain an FS hotel room. To save everyone time, it basically says... lots of TBD future membership upgrades.

That's not updated.

That says you can DG 4 Day HG and go directly to Advanced Tactical Handgun. You can't. You have to DG or G a 4 Day HG or HG Skill Builder AND take Tactical Handgun. I confirmed that this morning.

The chart is correct. It states at the bottom that arrows on top of boxes are prerequisites to take the class. The prerequisite for Advanced Tact HG is completing Tact HG (which needs a G or DG in 4DHG/2DSB to get into) and DG’n 4DHG/2DSB.

I must have failed flowchart reading comprehensionthen as it appears to me that with a DG in 4 Day handgun one could bypass Tactical Handgun and go directly to Advanced Tactical Handgun. There’s that green line that goes from DG, around Tactical Handgun and directly to Advanced. Confusing.

Oops, you're right! Not all of their links have been updated. The V2 is correct, although not super easy to understand.

Kudos to the creator of the new chart. Much better than the previous version.

Do the four-day and just let them know you will have to leave on day 4. You will appreciate staying the third day.

Regarding the prerequisites, are the time limits eliminated with the new program? In the past they had times limits on how long ago you could have completed a prerequisite. It appears that those time limits are now gone. Correct?

In the past if the prereq was attendance-based it was time-bases; if it was skill-based (G, DG) there was no time limit.

Anyone get a challenge coin or pin in the mail from the good Dr.? I've had a few friends receive them this week.

Also, I'm excited to hear that a bunch of the phase 3 Ranges are finished and operational. I'll be out there next month and I'll try to get some pictures.

I would hold out for another "limited time offer" in regards to the private training. I took the good DR up on the ask me what you want offer, before the end of the year, name your reward offer. I sent him an email saying what I wanted and how much I wanted to pay and he simply said OK. Pretty crazy. I should have asked for more...LOL.

Sure all the email is spam and the last minute is never really the last minute but they still offer great training and sometimes you can get a pretty good deal. Even after you miss the "never to be offered again..." offer.

So, my wife and I are trying to sign up for Tactical Handgun and as the course has prerequisites, we're asked to fax a course application. The problem is, the fax number at the bottom of the application has been disconnected

The number listed is (855)271-0852. Is there anyone here who knows the correct fax number, please?

In this situation, I've always called Front Sight administration (800-987-7719‬) and they've registered me without the application.

Thanks guys. I ended up e-mailing them the filled out application .pdf files and a snapshot of the signed forms. Will follow up with a phone call too as we want to start buying plane tickets and reserving a room and rental car.

Does that ammo company on site still accept ammo shipments for FS students?

There is something not quite right about the signup for the new tac handgun classes. Despite meeting the prerequisites, many people are having problems signing up. The best is to call and work with them to get signed up.

Stockpile Defense? I believe they are no longer in business. There is still on-site ammo sales, but I don't know who runs it. Maybe FS?

Myself an a couple of buddies are going to front sight for a 2 day handgun class. I was thinking about camping on site in my RV. Id like to show up get camp set up the day prior to the class. If I show up during normal business hours will I have access where the keep everyone camped?

It is outside the facility on BLM land. No problems with access. Realize there are no improvements.

I believe Stockpile Defense relocated out of state. Idaho, I believe. I think FS is selling ammo on sight. Ammo Supply Warehouse in Pahrump has ammo at pretty good prices. You can pre-order and pick-up when you arrive. www.ammosupplywarehouse.com/
