Default Discount Shooter’s Supply out of business? Nope, they moved

I went by about 2.5 months ago and inventory seemed really low.

Went by today at 5:15 and the store was empty. Have we lost another CA gun shop?

Also, who was driving the grey/silver Toyota Sequoia with CGN oval sticker?

edit for update: they moved

That would be a bummer. Bought my last firearm there; noticed their stock looked a bit light.

Wow that sucks, Jeff is one of the reasons I'm in Idaho, did a gun show in Boise 5 or so years ago for him and fell in love with the area.

Natural result of the over-expansion of the gun industry after bammy got reelected in 2012. Simply too many gun businesses for the ecosystem to support. I don't like seeing peoples businesses fail, but capitalism's a *****.

Last Yelp review was 10/7 and no mention of it being closed. No mention on their website. Hope they're still in business.

By “empty” in my OP, I meant the store was barren empty and it was 515pm. They close at 6pm normally. Not a single item in there. Cash register, guns, anything. Gone.

Either they moved(we would probably have seen a move notice) or went out?

I saw on their Facebook page that they changed the hours to "closed permanently" last week. Had a Henry chambered in .410 on order through them since February so that's kind of frustrating to see them close shop.

That yelp posting also said, "***Note - Discount Shooters Supply will be moving at the end of this month (OCT 2017) to a location that will get them more exposure and business to a location near Fry's Electronics, past Sunrise. The last day to pick up your weapon is on 10/28."

Anybody looked over there?

Good news!! I always felt they were a good gun shop. By that I mean not the typical condescending or too cool for school type of attitude that many places have.

I’ll definitely check out the new location. I’ll also update the OP to give them some advertising since some of their customer base(eg. me) didn’t know.

This location has been “under construction” for a number of months. I was curious who was opening there.

Yes they have had the sign up forever. Funny they're moving into a previously run hyrdo/grow shop. I call that progress.

Irony at its best... There was a hydro shop across from them at the old location. When folks would open the door and the breeze comes in you see everyone's face go WTF?!?

In California, it is very difficult to move without temporarily closing. The FFL is licensed to a specific address. They can't open the new location until the license is activated there. They have to transfer all inventory between FFL licenses.

I'm hopeful they will be open soon.

They are in the works of getting their final city inspections.

Looks like they got their final inspections today and will be having a soft opening Monday. Powder and primers show up the end of next week as well as bullets weather permitting. Guns and more stuff will arrive all week.

Shooters Pro Shop
106 North Sunrise Blvd Suite #C2 right next to The Squeeze Inn
Roseville, CA 95661
916-899-5265 activates Monday

Default They're open!

Down the block a little bit from the IHOP. Guns weren't in stock when I visited last week, but hopefully they're in now.

Good to see them move to a busier part of town.

Powder and primers order came in. As well as some consignments. I put a Remington 513t in 30day jail.

New name is "Shooters Pro Shop." No website up yet. Previously everything they could order was listed on website with very competitive prices for the area.
