CA and Yolo have responded to request for full-court en banc:

State: http://cdn.ca9.uscourts.gov/datastor...%207-15-16.pdf

Yolo: http://cdn.ca9.uscourts.gov/datastor...%207-15-16.pdf

Basically, 'what error? - we like the prior result just fine'

There is no value at all complaining or analyzing or reading tea leaves to decide what these bills really mean or actually do; any bill with a chance to pass will be bad for gun owners.

The details only count after the Governor signs the bills.

If the case might be filed for certiorari, the deadline is on or about Nov 13, 2016.

According to CRPA email of Nov 28, 2016,
Quote:
In addition, the Peruta case, the case that could bring “shall-issue” CCW to California, is now Supreme Court bound! We will be filing our petition for review by the Supreme Court in the coming weeks.
Plaintiffs/appellants filed for an extension of time to file cert on 10/31, granted 11/1, extending to December 14, 2016.

Default Time to file extended

Quote:
The Plaintiffs filed another application on December 2, 2016, to extend the time to file a cert petition to January 12, 2017. Update December 6, 2016 10:19 AM: The SCOTUS docket just updated. The extension to January 12, 2017, was granted yesterday by Justice Kennedy who handles extensions for this circuit.
Might just as well take the time to be especially persuasive.

Petition for certiorari at http://michellawyers.com/wp-content/...Petition-1.pdf

Quote:
The question presented is:

Whether the Second Amendment entitles ordinary, law-abiding citizens to carry handguns
outside the home for self-defense in some manner,

including concealed carry when open carry is forbidden by state law.

Peruta was scheduled for consideration for certiorari in the March 24 conference, but was rescheduled.

See also the SCOTUSBlog page, http://www.scotusblog.com/case-files...-v-California/

ETA relist after relist after relist ... keep checking Scotusblog.

6/26/16 SCOTUS denoisd cert; Justice Thomas wrote a dissent, joined by Gorsuch.

Dissent starts at page 30 of the pdf
https://www.supremecourt.gov/orders/...17zor_8759.pdf

Absent a miracle, case is now ended.
