well, like I said, I think they should have just issued the woodlands. They were already in the exchanges and readily available. But, this is better than nothing, and I will gladly burn my utilities as soon as I get the chance too.

Seems like that pendulum is about to shift.

I'll agree about the coveralls. As much as I like them and prefer to wear them over all others, they are garbage for a uniform. Every Engineer onboard has at least one set with a belt loop blown out and I couldn't tell you how many I've ripped open over the years. The material is very cheap.

But be carefull what you wish for. The Engineering coveralls are very hot. Especially when your down south and it's 90 degrees and 100% humidity (before you go down into the hole).

It's sad to know the "Crackerjacks", 13 button blues are gone. I loved that uniform, it actually was one of the contributing factors in me joining the Navy.

The crackerjacks aren't gone, nor is there any current plan to get rid of them. I have heard a rumor that they are looking at modifying the 13 button fly to make them easier to get into and out of though.

They are also looking at changing the whites to look like they did during WWII, with the blue piping.
