Default Sig 522

Looks like the Sig 522 (Rimfire 556 Clone) will be available by April/May as stated by Sig at Shot 09!
100% Made in the USA (Exeter, New Hampshire)

Hopefully we'll see some good pics from the Shot 09 coverage.

w00t!!!

I'm so happy that there are more modern semi-auto rimfire rifles. We'll now have the WASR22, GSG5, AR22's, and this new Sig.
Outside of the ability for us to train on the cheap, I think it'll help bring new shooters to the sport and help reduce the "Evil" image of black rifles.

Any info on pricing? I just hope it's not like the SIG556. Because if it is....I'll stick to my 556.

Watching the NRA video coverage I believe it was targeted in the $500 price range. Google search pulled up some retailers prepping their websites with pre-order information for an unspecified Sig .22 rifle in the $500 range.
Hopefully, that'll be the price upon release because that'll be a damn good price. AR Rimfire uppers alone go for $500+... Might as well buy a complete rifle with that change.

Default Sig Sauer 522

It's up on the Sig Sauer webpage now:

http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/Sho...&productid=249

If it really goes for around $500 I'm all over it!

Yeah, I was going to buy another uppper for my AR, but why?
If the Sig is solid I can get a complete rifle.

There's already a 110+ post thread on the 522.

Short version: I want one.

I doubt it takes the BDM mags, but it might.

Jeese that's pretty. Can anyone say GSG-who?

I was trying like hell to get one of the elusive GSGs, and now... I dunno. Think I wanna 522. That thing is gorgeous.

The hoopla about 1:1 rimfire copies of our bigger rifles is being able to have all the evil features with detachable magazines, and to be able to shoot for cheap.

No problem, people just need to know exactly where their money is going. I had a real nice talk with both Chris last night and Maria today regarding this issue.

$494.70 is a hell of a lot cheaper than a Spike's Tactical rimfire upper.

Are 22 rifles exempt from the CA "Evil Features" nonsense? Because this thing looks pretty evil...

Yes, they are relatively exempt. They can also be 26" in length as opposed to 30" for the centerfires.
