There is a cleanup on the 21st of this month its non official but help is needed:

This morning I got an email with really good news!!! My contact at BLM notified me that we will have a roll off bin on site for us to dump the trash. They will also be supplying some bags and trash pickeruppers (pickuppers must be returned). So now that we have a 40 yard roll off we need to get the word out! I'm not expecting last years turn out that had months of planning, but let's try to get half as many or a 1/3... Here's a link to the list if anyone is interested or even if you can spred the word, thank you.

I was there yesterday, I was met by Eat Dirt and offered some trash bags however I brought my own. So since you guys were cleaning up the front area, my buddy and I cleaned up the areas farther into the back.

We also saw some boneheads get busted by the ranger that was there that day, they were shooting down the path of the trail where others were shooting. I'm just glad the Rangers were there to straighten them out. Overall, it was also a good day to zero in a few guns I've never shot before.

Just heard from BLM, he's guessing it will be closing for fire restrictions within a week or two. He's going to email me as soon as the closure order is issued.

He also mentioned that a roll off bin is probably good to go for a clean up, he just needs to ask. So after the closure I'm going to be coordinating with BLM on a official clean up date.

That's disappointing to hear & there goes our next shoot. I can't go this weekend, but I'll definitely try to head out the following weekend. Will PM you if I can, purer00r.

Keep us posted on the clean up, it needs it.

Around Halloween or Thanksgiving depending on how much rain we get determines when it reopens.

All forestry lands are also closed to target shooting due to fire danger. As shooters our only options are outdoor ranges which require a membership, or indoor ranges.

Burrow Cyn. and Lytle Creek are open to the public and don't require a membership. I'm sure there are others.

True, but both have fees... and I've heard bad things about LC and the rangers there now. Although, it could never be worse than it was; I remember going there in the late 80's/early 90's... when it was like the wild west with drunken Fontucky/Rialto/Colton gang bangers and full autos!

BC it is!

I doubt it, unless were hunting or get an enormous amount of rain between now and then.

There were still a few memberships available at Wrens Ranch last week from what I heard. Really nice range.

I'm betting that SP being still closed and no shooting afterwards is what is hurting us!

I don't recall any cleanups taking place during the fire closure...?

Keep in touch with me on this!

Shame, yes perhaps.

The reality is most people coming out for an event such as this are looking for the "happy ending"... the fun social aspect of shooting with like minded individuals. Without that "fun" reward at the end, I doubt we'd get any great turnout!

I know a majority of folks have been busy with other stuff since I've talked to them off of Calguns, the weather is cooling off a bit and rain has been setting in.....who knows if we had cleaned it up if blm wouldve considered opening sooner rather than later. Any who open to suggestions on a new date, one that could fill a list.

1N09 in SBNF isn't closed permanently. I grew up at the base of those mountains and still have plenty of friends in Highland. They still go there regularly!

All forestry lands are subject to closure during fire season, same as BLM lands. At least with the forestry lands they base closures on moisture content in plant life, not arbitrarily like the BLM!

Hello Brothers!
I'm with the Watchmen of California and I would also be interested in helping out with the cleaning. I'm also sure most of our members will help out as well. Please PM me with the location and date for the clean-up, I have volunteered with CalGuns before helping out Novaholic at the Gun Show in Ontario and it was a blast! Calgunners are a great group and we definitely need to all stick together and do what it takes to keep these BLM areas open for us all. Its a damn shame that some idiots just don't give a crap and dump trash or just don't pick up after themselves.

Please let me know.
Thank you,
Stomp (WOC)

Sounds good.

Has anyone been this year? Is it still closed? I haven't gone back/checked since late last year.
