Someone asked why I'm selling the RIA. Personally, it's nobody's business but mine, but just to keep people happy, I have my eye on a Dan Wesson PM7. The RIA helps fund the DW.

Check my iTrader feedback. That tells the story.

I am looking for a 1911 but I don't really know what to get. How do these compare to Colts or Springfields. I know they are made overseas

Workmanship is a little rough but they are very reliable in my experience. Just less fit and finish and namesake. Certainly not a piece of junk gun. But that's just the GI. Never held or shot a Tactical model. Will need to research the differences. I.E. possibility of throated barrel and/or polished ramp and whatnot.

If it were 3 weeks from now I'd probably buy it.

BlackonBlack,
The Colt is a finer pistol in pretty much every way. It also costs significantly more. This RIA is a good shooter with some nice touches and parts. But a Colt is a Colt.

My first handgun was a GI RIA. Still have it and have done numerous upgrades and it is my best shooter by far. I have never shot a tactical but I would not hesitate to get one if I was in the market for another 1911.

Man this is the second time you have put it up and then taken it down a few days later.

Yes it is and I apologize for that. I'm having a tough time deciding if I even like it enough to keep it. But it's paid for and it isn't broken in yet. So I'm thinking I should shoot it and see how it goes, if it's going to be a keeper or not.

I guess that I'm also frustrated with the way this thread went as well. But, enough said on that.
