Yeah, our 3rd hat told us to just stock up on razors before we left.

Don't get me started on the cologne. "Now, during my PX calls, every recruit will buy 5 bulldogs and 5 cobras for the whiskey locker."

Default A tale of two generations

Wow, I am glad I went photo hunting, I found my Fathers boot camp graduation photos, as well as his ship photo. Here is two generations of sailors.

Me at 18, what a gay looking photo Hahaha.

Graduating Company 136, 1979

My Father, graduating company 473, 1951. I just noticed something, both my Father and I are standing in the same 2nd row from top, 6th man from the left position for our photos.

Dad on the USS Valley Forge, Aviation Boatswain's Mate Third Class.

Other than the uniforms, MCRD San Diego looks like it did in 1988. Man, I just realized it's been 20 years! I'm feeling old now.
