Any news on a matching upper? A side-charging one would be real nice.

Also, has anybody put their lowers through a good amount of use? I kind of want to type ii anodize or cerakote mine because I want more of a blue color. Just wondering if thats a bad idea since its 6061.

I am working on the matching upper now. I have thought about a side charger but I will start with a standard style first. I know some guys have put over 2000 rounds through these with no issues. The whole 7075 vs 6061 is over hyped. I would like to see someone who can show me where 6061 has failed them in a lower because it has less tensile strength than 7075. People think they're Rambo or something. http://www.makeitfrom.com/compare-ma...5MgCu-Aluminum

The only reason they use 7075 in the forgings is because it's the only aluminum that can be forged.

Cool. I didnt really even give it a second thought until I decided on just cerakoting or type ii anodizing. Guess I'll just wait on that upper now before I get this thing cerakoted/anodized. Keep us updated. Thanks jimi.

probably a stupid question, but do we need to loctite the threads on the build screws so they don't work themselves out over time with the recoil?

I wouldn't do that. If you loctite them in, it's going to be difficult to break them free if you want to readjust them in the future. What you can do is put another screw behind the main one to act like a jamnut.

Gen III jigs are back in stock. They will fit all forgings and most billet 80's on the market.

The latest jigs will fit more of the 80%s on the market, most actually. There are few out there that have weird designs and it won't fit those. If you have specific fitment questions ask and I will let you know.

JL Billet's MBS™ (Modular Billet Stock) is a patent-pending all aluminum modular buttstock designed to fit AR15 & AR10 Mil-Spec collapsible buffer tubes.

We start with chunks of 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum and precision CNC machine each piece to ensure an exact fit and perfect function. The MBS™ is a modular design that allows all components of the stock to be replaced if damaged, you can also change up the color and design to set your AR15 apart from the rest. We don't use any plastic on this stock other than the rubber base and cheek pads, this allows you to ceracoat or anodize whatever color you like to accessorize and customize to your specific needs.

The MBS™ is skeletonized to reduce weight while maintaining strength and giving a look like nothing else on the market. Weight without a buffer tube installed is only 16 oz. It's not for the weak guys who can't handle 4 extra oz in their rifle.

PM me for dealer inquiries!

I had a chance to handle one of these MBS... besides being extremely high quality and being completely modular, slop on the buffer tube was almost non-existent - which would be my main concern.
Still slides up and down the buffer tube easily, but without all the wiggle of your standard m4 or aftermarket poly stocks
