Default Gettin kinda burned out - getting kinda snappy at people.

I've noticed that at the last few Calguns events I've been to that my patience is running short with folks who are either attendees or fellow volunteers. Some are my friends (I hope) in real life and I hope you guys understand - I'm getting kinda burned out volunteering at all these events.

I'm gonna try to scale down my involvement to just what I can maintain (LAX / Insight Monthly shoot and maybe the WoT monthly commitment) and try to take some of the weekend time back to get my head back in the game.

Sorry if I end up flaking on your event, but the annoyance, lack of morale, and snippyness I've been showing to folks is REALLY unprofessional. I'm burned out and need to rest up so I don't drive folks away from the community.

Thanks again, and hope to just get a chance to hang out with you guys outside of volunteer work soon.

Happycamper, if you wanna skip out on a few Insight Shoots, I will understand and would not be mad at you or think of you differently if you can not make it. You do need your "me" time.

Take a break for a while and look out for yourself first. When you are ready to come back for some shoots, we will gladly welcome you back..

I really don't have much of a problem with the Insight shoot, it's pretty literally on my way home from work. But the brain be fried and needs some decomp time.

J, I am surprised at how much you could handle and happy to see you scaling down. I appreciate your time and effort, Papa Smurf.
Volunteering should hurt good not hurt bad.

Take a break man! Go get a massage and clear your head with a good movie. Volunteering can be a thankless job sometimes. Sometimes you just have to go shooting by yourself to get some perspective.

Everyone needs a break once in a while. With all of the political pressure, and news stories that demonize this culture, it can wear a person out.

The best thing you can do is something that recharges your batteries.

Suck it up soldier!!! No rest for the weary. The Constitution neeeeeeds YOU!

j/k happycamper. Don't burn all your fuel at once. The Constitution really does need you but for the long haul. Can't do that if you're burnt.

Much respect always for the work you do/done.

I'm really surprised at how much you do and you didn't burn out sooner. Take some time of or slow down. some day's you just need to veg to recharge the batteries. You've been a big help with WOT, and I totally understand if your going to be out for a while.

You got my number, you know I'm on the other side of the hill from you. If you wanna get boba or pork chop rice or something else and vent or whatever, call me.

It's good to step away from things every now and then.

If you reload you may want to check your lead levels. Lead poisoning makes people cranky, it's one of the symptoms.

Cheers, Pete.

But does this mean ... *sniffle* ... no more Beowulf?

But in seriousness, I'd like to express appreciation for your work and that of the other volunteers. As a loner and noob I've been thankful to find a welcoming and helpful group at the few shoots I've attended thus far. When these events help new shooters along it helps the gun community as a whole.

I knew something was up, and that's why asked if you were taking on too much just before the Briley event.

Take all the time you need, as we need you at your best. The biggest fight is always just around the corner.

Jer,

Although I've only been to one Calguns event at LAX, I'd like to thank you for everything you have done, and continue to do for the Calguns community. I wasn't sure what to expect when I went, but met you, and a variety of cool people who were very welcoming.

I remember you being very friendly, and graciously allowing everyone and their momma to shoot your guns (Beowulf was a rockstar that night). I give you lots of credit, because despite the fact that I let a few people shoot my 5.7, it seemed like people were shooting your guns more than you were yourself. ;O)

Anyhow, thanks again, and rest up man. Take time for yourself and if people don't understand that you deserve/need time for yourself, then let them organize and do their own thing.

Thanks for the encouragement, folks! I'm slowly making my way around the events forums to see how I can contribute. You'll continue to see me at the LAX and Insight shoots, and maybe a few Women on Target's here and there.

Sounds like you need some pie, a la mode. Sit back, relax a bit. Go to a golf course and watch the hackers try to hit from the blues tees. Once you see how bad they are you think why do they call themselves golfers. There are only maybe 5 to 7 real golfers in the world, the rest are hacks, me included. Go to a bowling alley and have beer and pizza brought to you, that usually perks me up. Cheers.
