Interesting that the list still shows 7/2/2014 as expiration date and it came out in Turner's hunt ad today and hasn't been on there "oh my god hurry up and buy this." ad that they've been putting out for those falling off the roster

Hopefully we'll see that date change soon.

I put my order in at OP's link Monday and haven't heard a peep yet

Look like S&W paid CA's extortion fee. The Shield 9 will be on roster until 2015. Should expect the shield 40 to be renewed too.. lol .40

I think I'll be SSE'ing a non-CA shield though. Extra $50 to not have the shark fin is money well spent. Extra $25 on top of that to lose the thumb safety

..

That's great news!

In my book, S&W should have paid the fee months ago. They had already
stated that the Shield line would remain available in CA, as long as feasible.
By waiting til the last second, they've lost some credibility with me. If they
were the victim of some sort of CA bureaucracy BS, then I recommend
they issue a statement to that fact. Otherwise, it just looks like they were
trying to use the deadline to drive up sales. Clearly many buyer's were
motivated to use their precious "1 per month" to grab a Shield, before it
expired. This game also negatively impacted the vendors, who discounted
their offerings, to clear inventory.

They have sales but something tells me that they had it that low due to fear of being stuck with a product that they wouldn't be able to move due to DOJ expiration.

A buddy of mines in the gun business told me the $329 price was below his cost. I believe ArkinDomino is correct.

It was no surprise the SHield reupped on the CA Roster. S&W even said they had planned to and will plan to.

It kind of was...

S&W had also stated that all of their revolvers were going to stay on the DOJ list, but then suddenly they started dropping like flies. I personally contacted Smith & Wesson regarding that situation and I never got a clear response other than constant runarounds. And then some revolvers were added back to the list but with the letter "A" as a suffix to their SKUs.

This action made it completely reasonable to believe that S&W would allow the Shield to fall off of the DOJ list and then added again with the letter "A". People reacted and I don't think they can be blamed for that.

How much is their standard shipping? I didn't feel like filling out all of my info and FFL's info just to get a shipping quote. A rough estimate would be fine (like around $10, or around $20, etc)

$15 for shipping on their web site. It is a good deal but I found very mixed feedback on this seller.

So you buy this gun, have it shipped to a local FFL, pay tax and the FFL's fee, your into it for almost $500. You might just as well buy from your LGS, or if you're in the east bay, go to Tracy Rifle and Pistol and pickup a non CA version for about the same price. My 2.

In OC, $495 OTD gets you the non ca no safety model at OC firearms. A little more $, but better than that pos CA model. There's a reason everyone is putting those on sale.

In some counties like Ventura, they won't approve CCW if the gun is SSE. That is what I heard. So sometimes people are stuck with the CA version.
