I guess I just don't see why these are worth it. Anyone used them?

I personally see the value in these sights, and I couldn't be happier with the rear PRO I use, but to each his own. The PRO sights offer a low profile figure, compared to the polymer MBUS. In addition, it's metal construction makes for a more rugged design.

Those are also on sale at Quantico, but I have found the rear for less in the past. I remember buying the rear for $40 shipped + tax from Amazon. (This was directly from Amazon, not some no-name 3rd party vendor.)

I have seen sets of gen 2 front/rear black for $65 recently on the web. So, that is my price point area. I missed 1 sale, tried to win an ebay auction instead, so kind of holding out for that price range as I know it can be done.

they make their money back in the shipping. It costs them $5.05 to ship via a small flat rate box or flat rate padded envelope. That's their rate. Ridiculous. Why have a "sale" if you're going to take that money back through the shipping anyway?

Agreed.... but making additional revenue on shiping is so, so, so commonplace in online retail. If you have ever sold and shipped stuff, you know - generally - how much stuff will cost. And to see some of these companies rates, it is obvious they seek to make some additional revenue off shipping. Think about it, how can some places offer "free" shipping and yet others charge $11 to ship a small box. Even worse, they are not likely paying the shipping rates we would pay as they negotiate rates I suspect. So, whereas you might pay $5 to ship something by USPS, they pay $3.25.. and yet still charge you $10.

This isn't the $65 you were hoping to spend, but it's close enough.

Yep... 5 days ago they were $65 I lagged and price went up. I suspect I will buy these, but with 4th sales coming, I am going to hold out.

Once I see a low price, I tend to use that as my baseline on what it is attainable for. And since I do not need them ASAP, I will hold out to see what sales come this week.
