I made an AR Pistol, Phase Five tactical charging handle and bolt release. Adams Arms Gas Piston upper.

Magpul Flat Dark Earth and Black

The grip is an ATI ergo ar15 grip...very nice actually, the best grip I have ever used, about 35$. It is a two part grip; the back end is a softer recoil reducer and the main body is DuPontŪ Extreme Temperature Glass Reinforced Polymer.

I Want to upgrade my compensator and buy a lightened adams arms BCG.

I have a color matching long range rifle, 5.56 caliber.

Vortex Scope w/eotech xps3 dark tan holographic sight,Troy Indistries flip up rear and front sight...some of the strongest flip up sights. Vltor upper...good but not compatible with some brass catchers like the LeaveNoTraceBehind brand. 20" fluted barrel, geissele super trigger 3, phase 5 tactical charging handle and bolt release, TDS compensator- loud but very effective for no muzzle rise.

My anti turn trigger pins, pull down pins, bullet button and bolt release are in Burnt Broze ceracote/ not necessary but just for cosmetics.

If anyone has a quad rail...I suggest getting the snap on ergo parts kit from Larue Tactical as it allows for greater customization for grip position, almost like a hand stop so your hand doesn't go any further down the hand-guard.

How are you guys getting away with that stock? I thought you couldn't have a stock like that on a pistol?

The "stocks" are SigTac arm braces; not a stock per the ATF.

It can't. It's fully legally. BATFE ruled that it is NOT a stock. Therefore, you can put it on a pistol without any worries of creating an NFA item (turning it into a short barreled rifle).

YES, you can put it against your shoulder and use it as a stock all you darn well please. The BATFE doesn't rule on use, only design intention. As an example: if CA banned hammers and it was a felony to owner a hammer, you could still go to a hardware store looking to buy something to use as a hammer, find a suitable crowbar or wrench, buy it with the sole intention of hammering nails and such with it, use it repeatedly and exclusively for hammering things, and still be 100% within the law. Using a crowbar as a hammer does not turn it into a hammer. It is and always will be a crowbar. Same thing with the SB15 brace. It is a brace. It is not a stock. Even if you use it as a stock, it's still just a brace under the law. Enjoy.

This is quite far from the truth. The rubber is very stiff. The only thing it lacks over your standard M4 stock is quick and easy length adjustment. Otherwise, it shoulders exactly the same and it is way more than stiff enough to handle normal shoulder stock duties every bit as well as a typical AR stock. I think you'd be very surprised. As you can see in my photos, I have it spaced off of the receiver plate to give a more normal length of pull. Now there's actually at least one buffer tube on the market made just for the SB15 and it spaces it off the receiver plate by like 3 inches, putting length of pull right about in the middle of a 6-position adjustable M4 stock's range.

excuse my ignorance, but what is the purpose of the sb15 for shouldering?

i find shouldering the buffer tube fine for 2.23 or 5.56

Fine is fine, but better is better. The SB-15 can increase length of pull by quite a bit vs. just a buffer tube and it also has a normal stock-like shape to the back. It looks and feels like a stock, offers a stock-like cheek weld, etc. I don't have an issue shouldering a buffer tube either, but the extra LOP really helps and the size of the SB makes it even more stable.

True. Things can always change. Right now, though, it's legal so it won't get you in trouble. If the law changes, then that changes. The thing even ships with ATF documentation stating that it is NOT a buttstock. This is handy if you're hassled by law enforcement. CA would have to create its own ruling stating that CA considers it to be a buttstock, at which point I guess you'd have to burn yours.

For those who have done ammo research... with reduced velocity/effectiveness of standard 223/556, what defensive rounds are you guys shooting in these 7.5" barrels?

All the ballistic fragmentation stuff you hear or read online are mostly talking about ball ammo. I found that 55gr hp & sp as well as hornady Vmax and other similar bullet will explode on contact with material from a 7.5" AR barrel at 40 yards.

Does anyone know if the caa saddle will fit securely over a phase 5 pistol buffer tube? I ask because the foam only covers half of the tube.

Just a quick question. Ive seen a few builds in this thread and the lowers look like they were standard, store bought lowers such as from spikes or aero precision. I wasn't aware that was possible, I thought a pistol had to originate from an 80%?

It mounts on perfectly. The rails has enough high to clear the Afghan from the handguard. I'll take a pick when I get home
