Default Help Deciding Leupold VX2 or buckmaster or?

Just ordered a Weatherby Vangaurd S2 30/06. Im trying to decide between Leupold VX2 3x9x40 and Nikon Buckmaster 3x9x40 or is there something else I should consider? Budget is $300 yes I know if I spend another $100 I can get better and if I spend another $200 I can get allot better etc.. Gotta hold it at $300

Thanks for any help!

Get this:

Vortex Viper 3-9x40 Matte Riflescope
http://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-r...vpr-m-01p.html

Use CalGuns 5% discount and save some $$

Vortex has a PHENOMENAL warranty ( identical to Leupold )
They are equal in quality to Leupold, customer service is excellent!!

If you are sold on Nikon ( some people like the "Spot-ON" software ) get a Monarch vs Buckmaster.

Are you sure that coupon works?

Also OP.....

If you are sold on a Leupold - I suggest the Redfield Revolution - It's made my Leupold, in Oregon.
Special now at OP w/ butler creek cover for UNDER $300 - Still can use CG 5% discount, I believe.

Leupold 3X9X40 Duplex Reticle. Sight it in 2.75" high at 100 yards with 150-165gr bullets and you are good for any hunting. Aim for hair and you will have a dead animal. For hunting the KISS princple is best.

This. BDC isn't worth a **** if you haven't tested it to those ranges yet. Don't rely on unknowns when hunting. KISS and it's a lot harder to hit an animal in the pocket than a non-hunter could imagine.

Love them! I don't prefer one piece rail because I want to be able to load through the chamber rather than from the mag.

Vortex is on par with Leupold? I don't think so, that is merely your opinion cause it's what you own and obviously your darling brand

A set of Weaver rings/bases will do just fine. Or you can go with Leupold. Or a set of other brands.
Weaver work and are usually the cheapest to buy.

I have a Tikka T3 superlite in .308. I've decided on a Leopold vx11 3x9x40 & a DNZ mount. I may buy the scope today. The eye relief is impressive.

The Tikka rings have worked well for me on both of mine. Scope stayed put after approx 1500 rounds

Last night (Thurs) I bought a Leopold 3x9x40 VX11 & DNZ low mount for my Tikka T3 superlite .308. Ordered from Optics Planet 318$ delivered, great price! I talked to a lot of people, including an avid pig hunter locally, most recommended same scope. Never been so excited about a gun & I've had plenty.
