Default AKM side folder stock

I just ordered a Romanian surplus side folding wire stock for my AKM. Is it legal in CA.

yes. but only if the OAL of your rifle is 30" in the shortest position. IOW, you can have a folding stock folded but you'll need to have an extension on the muzzle. bayonets don't count.

U can permanently set the stock open. I did it to my khyber, maadi, yugo's, etc.
Spot weld or drift/roll pin. I think on the romy you can do the 10 cent job.

Who gave you permission to use that "akteam" logo in avatar?
There are no new members, won't be any new members, and is not for you to use. Please remove it, thank you.

It's a tight knit group of friends who for a long time had more of an "organized" build party scene. Decided to name the group years ago. Using the name is kind of like, well, fraudulent to be polite. It goes way back, and we reserved the right to the team logo long ago. The guy above was sent a polite PM. Seems he want to be childish at this point.

When did we have to start using avatar pictures that is owned by the user? Not trying to be a smart a**, but who cares if he wants to use "THE AK Team" lots of people use pictures of celebrities should they get permission first?

Man, how times have changed. The good ole days of build parties, and respect, how I miss them! Buy your muzzle extension from Aimsmall. One of the original AK guys.

You can tell the real AK team. They are all pre 2010, ^^^ is just a rookie he just signed in 2014. Some people have no respect towards others that earned that right.

We care. It's ours.

Q: When can I use another person’s or company’s trademark without the owner’s consent?

A: It is usually permissible to use another company’s trademark when referring to that company’s product in text, where it is being used to truthfully refer to that a product or service affiliated with that trademark. It may not be used in a way that might mislead others as to that company’s affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement of your company, products or services, such as using a logo instead of simply the text form of a trademark, or using the trademark more prominently or frequently than necessary.

Away from the logo BS and back on topic. Bayonets DO count towards OAL. Just like a muzzle brake. The trade-off is that having your bayonet affixed all the time is IMO awkward as hell.

Another downside with using a bayonet... since they are easily detached, having them removed by a LEO and stating it was never on there.

True, but the same could be said for a muzzle brake. If you get a malicious LEO(unlikely) they're probably going to do whatever they want.

is the AK Team logo trademarked or registered?
I saw that other members used other trademarked images (ie, The Misfits, a picture of Jack Nicholson among others) and figured I could do the same without breaking any of the rules. If a mod asks me to remove it, I will, otherwise, it's staying up.

Why don't you quit pretending to be part of a group that has clearly defined members?

Wow, what a pos. This forum and its old members have lots of information and offer the help. This douchebag just doesnt give a **** about a team that has been long respected. Yet, wants some part to do with them and probably will end up misrepresenting them in some form of way. Just show them that respect and take it off.

I am pretty sure if you had a picyure of yourself and someone else used it as their avatar/sig you sure wouldnt like that.

Didn't want to get into this, but we own the rights to the name. Despite what other people are doing with trademarked images and logos, they just haven't been caught or the owners don't care enough. In this case, we own it and asked for him to remove it. The "just because other people are doing it" excuse doesn't mean it's right

Need proof? Look it up here http://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/

It's public information.

Search for "ak team"

To get back on topic, the stock is legal if the rifle is in the correct configuration. It can be left unfixed and foldable If when folded the rifle is still 30" (extended flash hider) otherwise it needs to be pinned open.

Speaking of folders. DAS had a nice NPAP underfolder, with a giant muzzle device on it to keep it folding, the other day when I was in there spending $$ I shouldn't be. Was pricy at around $900. But I was tempted nevertheless.Lol
