Default Stainless Steel Pin Diameter?

Which is preferred diameter?

I see there are .041, .047 and .062 diameters with corresponding length.

Which is most versatile?
'Cuz big holes are easier to see.

You can correct my spelling and grammar error anytime.
I welcome it. How else would I learn.

I like the bigger ones that Stilly sells, much easier to separate from the brass, and clean great. My small ones are just sitting there.

I use the 0.62 x .255 and it seems to work great.

I got it from these guys by the way.

And they are very nice guys to deal with.

High praise! High praise!

The short ones are nice because you get more, BUT when they get too short, they risk getting lodged sideways in certain shells.

THAT is why I push the longer ones. Get those shorties into a .223 or .308 and they could be a tad harder to get out.

I actually have a bag of the .062 x .255 and I must say. Aint gonna be telling folks to go get them. In fact, I aint even gonna give them a try unless I wanna show the new problem with them.

BUT to answer your question in the first place, you want a .062 or around that size because that size will fit 1 pin in your flashhole, but the smaller pins can slip in 2 or so and give you a headache when they get lodged in there.

From all of the testing I have seen, the most efficient ones are 0.047 x 0.255
