But what is she going to shoot?

Seriously, how old is she, and always nice to see family raising kids with shooting and respect/responsibility for guns.

Nice looking rifle! Does she know about it? A lot of adults are tough learners. Specially if they've shot before. Agree! Teach them as a kid!

It is really great when the younger generation takes an interest in shooting -
It skipped a generation for me, but I had a grand time with my grandaughter last spring at the range --
photos are with my 1894 30/30 - about 1910 vintage full length rifle

That's great dude! The responsibility at a young age is key. They will respect rules & listen. I've always enjoyed taking new shooters out, still do, lotta guys I dunno...

I have twin 8 year old nephews, and I would love to take them shooting, but like many boys that age, they are (toy)gun crazy and I am worried they won't have the proper respect for the real ones...

You are the one that has to teach them what is reality and what is fantasy play. I never allowed toy guns in my household for that very reason.

My sister (her Mom), just got the scope base and a Simmons Silver 4x32 scope for her crickett. This thing is going to be a deadly 100 yard shooter

FYI, I took my niece to the range for the first time to shoot. She sat on my lap and we "both" shot about 60 rounds of 10/22 and about 5 rounds of the AR-15. Her exact response was:

"I like #1 (the 10/22), and #2 (my wife's AR in .223) is too loud"

I then asked her if she would go again and she smiled and nodded her head as if she couldnt wait to go back out.
