I want to join the fun this weekend, especially as a first match. But I've changed some things around on my rifle and won't have an opportunity to reestablish a zero. Would there be any short time before the event to do so? Or must I wait until next month to shoot?

There is no area designated to sight in. You will need to show up with your scope zeroed. Sorry

No sight in, you have to have your rifle ready, just like any match.

Do stages get posted for this match? I looked at the Running Gun website briefly and it wasn't obvious.

Tks.

The stages have not been posted in advance of the matches. Not sure if there are any plans to do so.

Stages are not posted, you will not know what the setup is until you get there.

Stage 1 sucked for me since I wasn't used to shooting weak side. Can't wait for next month.

Yea, I had a suck day. My 1975 Ruger 10/22 started jamming up and my hillbilly mag coupler fell apart. When I got home to clean it, I found a note inside the original stock showing last cleaned in 1978..... and remebered that the bolt stop pin was loose cause I ran a bunch of CCI Stingers thru it 3 decades ago.

Could have been in the low 20s or teens if I hadn't lost my optics (loose battery cap) on stage 4 and had it sighted in correctly for the long range stage. Can't wait for redemption next month

Shot X3 this month instead of Phantom, but definitely can empathize with what a super drag it is when your equipment hangs up or breaks down. I finally, after two consecutive matches, was able to get through w/o a hang up.

Just part of the learning/vetting process I guess in squaring away your equipment and getting it setup right. Better luck next month!

This is a 1975 Ruger 10/22, which has not been cleaned since 1978, only sprayed with WD40. Well it quit running last match, so now it's clean and happy, original Simmons 2-7 Widefield scope, TruGlo 2 color, 4 reticle dot, and Power Custom mag coupler, Tapco M4 stock, ready for Rimfire, Preban Optic...

Maytags only last 25-30 years, my 10/22 will end up in the Smithsonian...

I'll be there next month. Had a class the night before and a bone graft done on my left jaw. Shooting from the weak side would have sucked for me.

Please remember no steel core ammo, some of the targets were damaged at the last match. Ammo will be checked at sign in with a magnet.

That's how Norco rolls, open squading, a few micro squads and a couple of nations squads, completely normal.

I think they should have someone check it at that stage unless they ban steel core ammo for the whole match. Last time they allowed them on the non steel stages and people either forgot not to use them on the steel stage or didn't care.

Steel ammo is not allowed at the whole match. Made an exception last time and it was a mistake.

How did you guys do in the steel stage? It's my best one so far, I only shoot each targets twice. I hit all of them except one in 74 secs + penalty.

Are you talking about Stage 1? 75 yard steel, 6 resetting poppers, shot from 3 positions, 18 rounds clean.

So " I only shoot each targets twice" Do you mean you only shot from 2 of the 3 positions? That would be time plus 1 mike (20 seconds) and 6 failure to engage (30 seconds for each target). Your total time would be 274.

Looks like Jojo (USPSA Grand Master) ran about a 53 total.

Yes, that stage and it was 7 poppers. I meant I only shoot the poppers twice max on each position, so if I missed twice I move on to the next one.

I missed one target twice in the first position and hit the rest. 74 secs + 20 sec penalty. In hindsight I could have hit what I missed inside 20 secs but then again maybe not.

Yes, 94 seconds total for that stage w/ penalty. I always sucked at that stage before.

Actually, you will find a 94 is pretty respectable.
