Looks like I might actually be able to make one of these. I'll be there if only for a couple of hours. Another first timer..

BTW how do I find you guys/gals? Is there a specific area you all meet?

.
I'm working too late to arrange any gourmet bacon-wrapped filets (hahaha...), but I shall have an ice chest full of beverages (ice tea, water, grapefruit soda, Pellegrino *pinky extended*)... and some vintage Coleman in the form of two lanterns and two single-burner stoves if anyone needs to heat something in a pot or pan or skillet. If I have the time tonight I'll stop and get some sammich fixins.

I can't decide which firearms to bring! *lol* I'll also be bringing an EZ-Up, table and chair. Might have a friend show up in the morning for a few hours, so, now it's me + 1.

My 11 year old is going to his first "girl from school" party so he's not coming with.

Getting ready for tomorrow! I'm working on the salads now, I'll have enough for most everyone. I'll be looking to mooch some bacon.

See you all in the morning!

Nice! Thank you.

Btw I'm planning to be there around 830-9 and I hope I'm bringing enough plates. I'll lose cell reception shortly after crossing the bridge heading toward the range so somebody PM me by 815 if I need to bring utensils or something. I'll keep checking for messages till I get into the canyon.

Anybody have a range finder they can bring? Or a yard stick so we know we're at known distances...

I know I'll be wanting to sight in my rifles at set distances and gather some data from the chronograph for load development and I know roughly 99-100 steps of mine are within +/-1yd. I'll walk it out if need be. Let's do this!!

Just realized my AR in its (rather over-sized case) doesn't fit in my car without the back seat down - whilst I think it's still legal because the case is locked, I'm not feeling too confident in it, I'd much rather travel with it fully in the trunk. So I'm going to have to give this one a miss, sorry guys. Have a great day! I'll buy a smaller case in the mean time (it's a re-purposed compound bow case ).

Long guns don't need to be in locked case. Just unloaded.

Oh guess what?!

A tweet I just received:

How dumb, but it was awesome hanging out with everybody who made it!

Well I didn't get an actual count but there must have been at least 45 of us that made it to the shoot.

Those who weren't able to make it today can be consoled in the fact that there will be another shoot Sunday, February 23rd!!

See you then.

Well, that sucks for all the people who were turned away. I think there were about 50 of us who I guess made it in under the wire. We were wondering why there was such a relatively low turn-out today. As for the shoot, everything went fine and I had fun.
