Default Riverside Indoor Shooting Range

The new range, in Riverside, is in a soft opening, with a grand opening near the end of the month. My adult son and I went Thursday and it was a great experience. Good staff and a brand new range. They also have a rifle range an archery range for those inclined that way.

As to the last, the owner said he was going to be meeting with the BSA to see if they would be willing to allow the archery range to be used by cub and boy scouts for their merit badges. My son said he'd be bringing his 6yr. old son, a cub scout when he heard that. He said he'd bring him in any event because he likes archery.

Good place, good people. Very safety oriented.

I should have mentioned that if you are W/B on Magnolia, turn South on Pierce, go over the tracks and turn left on the the first street, which is Sterling. It's all the way at the end of the street on the left.

This, per the owner. Up to .308 can be shot. He advised me it is constructed to be able to hold up to .50BMG, but .308 is the max.

Wife and I just went here for the first time today...Everyone was super nice and we had a lot of fun. Bonus is there's Wicks Brewing company across the street so we went there for lunch afterwards.

Mrs. VMCJ-3 and I just got back from RISR. Very nice facility, with a great staff.

A customer came in who appeared to be a potential knucklehead. The RSO's hovered nearby, and there was no problem. I was impressed by them being proactive, but not the power tripping RSO's that some other ranges are infamous for.

Mrs. VMCJ-3 declares this range to be female friendly, and ladies shoot free on Thursdays.

From my review in the gun range review section...

We went Sunday 3/2/14

RANGE: Riverside Indoor Shooting Range
LOCATION: Riverside off the 91
TYPE: Indoor
WEB LINK: http://www.riversideindoorshootingrange.com
OLL FRIENDLY: Yes
AREAS: 25 yards
FACILITY: 3/4
STAFF: 4/4
OVERALL: 4/4
COST: $20-2 hrs

COMMENTS: The facility is new and opened officially in January (had a soft opening before January. The staff was friendly upon check in. You do go through a one check with the RSO that you how to load, shoot and clear. After the check, we were left alone to shoot. There is a shelf below your shooting table to put cases, range bags, ammo, etc. The target stations have a lever to move targets back and forth. We shot the AR, 9mm, .22 rifle, .380 and a 357 magnum.

There is also an indoor archery range and sign ups for many classes.

In comparing with Field Time in Stanton, it isn't as fancy or has the electronic target distances or light adjustments, but it didn't have the crowd or long wait times either. We did not wait for a lane and that is a good thing.

It is freeway close off the 91 near Pierce/ Magnolia.

I spent Sunday afternoon in there and had a good time. Clean range, easy check in. Range officers pretty easy going, and no knuckleheads at the time I went (unless you count a couple guys hitting all over a silhouette with an AR about 10' away).

I was in their shooting bay "A". Not sure if any of the other bays are longer, but that one must've been 50' long tops. The target holders are slow to react to the controls, so cut it off maybe 4' ahead of where you want it to stop. The lanes were less than half full, no wait.

A word to the wise: the prep room between the lobby and the range isn't very well shielded from the range noise. Get your cans on before going in.

I work in Corona and will definitely be back for some lunch time shooting in the future.
