I truly hate these buybacks compensated firearm surrender programs.

Since the funds are going to be coming from the DOJ, wonder how much they will jack up the DROS fees to now?

anyone ever heard of these "public auctions" they speak of?

Default How do you 'buyback' something you never owned?

This bill is another steaming brown pile

No. But this bill courageously closes that 'loophole'. They all must be destroyed now

What evidence supports that buybacks reduce life threatening violence?

There was someone on here who asked for the accounting of one of these buybacks and got the runaround. I don't think there is much accountability for buybacks. How much taxpayer money spent. How the guns are logged in and out. Where they actually end up. The buybacks should all be looked into so as to make them accountable. They want us to register everything. The same should go for our public servants

We need a bill authorizing us to buy back all the corrupt politicians and ship them to GitMo.

This is a perfect example of how out of touch our elected officials are. They will pat themselves on the back for doing nothing more than pissing taxpayer money down the drain.

And the saddest thing of all is that with a Super Majority in the Assembly and Senate ALL these stupid and unconstitutional bills will pass and be unable to be VETO'ed.

Not sure how this is unconstitutional, even though it is a bad bill.

A veto can be over-ridden by a super majority.
I believe a 2/3rds vote is what it takes.

Well, I was hoping. My point is that giving these fools carte blanche to spend tax dollars on ineffective programs is as irresponsible as letting them use it for personal reasons. Petitions, taxpayer organization suits or legal code can't stop this?

Some of will come from our DROS money too correct? This is just infuriating. I do not want my money going to the brady idiots. This is a murder weapon disposal service on a grand scale. Gang Banger straw buy's a Hi Point, commits a murder, get almost all the money for the Hi point back and does it again and again. Our politicians are morons. At least my district has good people in it. Yay for the Gaines!

Most likely only accepting bids from rebar manufacturers who will melt down the guns as scrap steel.

well, how do you find out about these? I always hear about them on the news after the fact...

I've been hanging on to a badly damaged 308 bersa thunder waiting to get some cash for it. Now since it's off roster i'm thinking about contacting the manufacturer about replacing the frame.

Since the lower receiver is the "firearm" I have a couple crappy poly lowers I would love to get my money back on!

There's been 7 since W.W.II. 2/3 of both houses is required to override.
