Default Gunsmith near riverside

Hey guys i have a savage 111 in 25-06 that i need to get the headspace checked on. this rifle is fairly new to me (fired about 300 rounds through it) but with my most recent box of Winchester ammo, the necks split on almost all of the ammo, and two primers were ejected out of the back of the case. This leads me to believe that i need to get the headspace readjusted, so if anyone could recommend a good gunsmith that would be great. (or if anyone has go no go gauges for 25-06 (same as 30-06) that i could borrow that would be great.
Thanks
-Robert Smith

You might try Norco Armory. I haven't done any business there so I can't give you an opinion one way or the other though.

Thanks for the help guys. I called warrior one, and they have a gunsmith that comes in on tuesdays and thursdays (if i remember correctly). I ended up going to JW guns in colton. The guy that owns the shop was pretty cool, and ended up checking my headspace for free. he also had some cool older guns, and reloading components for sale among other things, and i will probably go back there if i need anything else.

JW is a cool guy. I know there are some threads on here about him being a jerk but I never had a problem with him. I always get a kick out of the sign about parking and he is a wiz when it comes to Winchester 94s

To All :
STAY AWAY from Merlyn Rifleworks, aka soon to be new name "American Pacific Rifleworks".
If you enjoy grief, lies and not being able to get the true status of your firearm then by all means go there rest assured you will never return.
Don't beleiive his new matto:

Merlyn will change names at some point in the future to APR in order to distinguish ourselves in the trade. Like a new pair of sneakers "feel great and don't stink"

Quote:
No matter how many new sneakers you put on "One Should Wash Their Feet to clense the Stench"

This will never happen since the owner is in denial; he lacks intregity and sound business ethics.

I'm also looking for a gunsmith
My old school remington 550-1 22lr needs works

The bolt assembly came flying out the back of it a couple weeks ago
The threading on the rear of the receiver is stripped.
Anyone know if local gunsmiths can re thread the receiver and screw my bolt assembly back in?

You could call the guy at JW guns he might be able to do it for you, although im not sure if he has a lathe., or you could call Norco armory.
Im not a gunsmith, but i do work in a machine shop, and you are probably going to have to get the back of the reciever redrilled and retapped, then have a custom adapter made so that the bolt assembly will fit in again. Im kinda interested in what happened to your gun, can you post pictures?
