Can we maybe to them into placing more through out, dropping the Calguns part? Maybe this will convince people to pick up?

I can make them at work (although $5 bucks is dirt cheap). I used to own a sign shop and kept the equipment. Are we allowed to make some?

Why drop the Calguns Name???

Eat Dirt did place more there, the one at the entrance is all that is left. I vote for keeping Eat Dirts signs the way they are.... we already have approval from BLM to put them up.

Moezer, I'd create a new thread proposing an informal cleanup for better visibility rather than in a year old thread that seemingly goes nowhere.

I'd be up for it.

Get there early. Occupy a nasty spot. Clean a lot. Shoot some. Leave it spotless.

THAT is a good thing and if we had a few more people that went out there and did that then the place would look much better.

Just a quick reminder, that we’ll be out at Perris BLM this coming Saturday November 16th at 7:00 AM to try and clean up the site as much as possible. I went by the site this evening and there is plenty for us to tackle.

Please check out the thread http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...php?p=12597596 and come join us if you can. We’ll take out some of the trash, shoot a little and hopefully help keep an area we all use and enjoy open for a while longer.

Damn, ok I lied.. I just cleaned them in hot water and soap and it turns out only one or two are Craftsman the rest are china (Channellocks brand made in China). But over 50 assorted sockets and a few wrenches for some work I was going to do anyway.

Side note: I did not take the box. It was dripping in gray paint and I did not have the stuff to keep it off my truck bed. So I left it (sorry). I feel kinda bad about the last part, but it was very nasty. We did haul out a bed full of bags of shotgun shells and assorted trash and bottles.

Was thinking of taking some pictures of the tools and auctioning them off for cleaning supplies or dumpster donation... What do you all think?

Dumpster donation sounds good, a couple of us have been talking about this idea for the not so distant future.

From the looks of things.. No they are not.

I took out one truck-bed full of trash and it still seemed like I was moving a mountain with a spoon. It is real bad.. So bad I bet it gets closed. Sorry to say, that if I was in charge, it would be closed for sure.

It's not a few folks spoiling it for the rest of us. From the looks of things, it only a few folks that are doing the right thing, most folks are trashing this spot.

Cool

yep, I was out there yestersday and looks real bad again. Mostly happened over the Holiday, lots of targets, clays, pallets, targets, etc. I filled a trash can and picked up some plywood and even found a blower, lol. heres a couple pics from when i was out there on monday. And no, they are not cleaning the broken clays. I watched a few people shoot most day, pack up and leave without cleaning their area.

Not sure if it was Maywood Gun Club or not, but it does say BLM Land in the article.

I wonder if it was at Maywood and they just said BLM to keep their name out of the news.

I would think if there was an event that 200 people showed up to at Perris BLM someone here would know about it.

I was out there yesterday and the placed is trashed. I've joined in one of the clean ups last year and the area is much worse than before. I'm surprised its not shut down yet. We really need to organize a dumpster and get one of these going again. I'm willing to chip in for a dumpster.

It would be great if we could put up some large signs at the entrance that state:

Quote:
PACK YOUR TRASH!
Possibly add a line about a fine penalty, which would be true. Penalty should include that you have to go out in an orange jumpsuit and clean if you get caught trashing the place and bailing. A list of what not to shoot for BLM noobs would be helpful too.

But it would probably be shot up and ignored.

I'm in for the clean-up on that date btw. I don't have a truck, but I have two arms and two legs to walk around and pick up ****.

Has anyone confirmed this date with EATDIRT?

That was last years date, this thread has served 3 clean ups and the op gets changed for each one. Right now the date looks close to end if Feb- early March. I will post when the date is confirmed.
