Just got mine dropped off in Fresno, there were 4 others on the truck getting delivered as well. Was easy to move my self with a uhaul appliance dolly. Only thing I see is with the door open it is very too heavy and tilts forward, well see how it is when I get it loaded after airing out the funk smell, but I think I am really going to have to move it somewhere it can be anchored down

It's definitely front heavy with the door open. Once loaded with guns and ammo, it evens out a bit. But none the less I recommend bolting it down, it can definitely fall over during an earthquake.

You want to bolt it down for security.

Got it in my room w a buddy! Took the door off and used a furniture dolly and forearm straps to get it in. I highly recommend the forearm furniture straps, they came in really handy.

Did you bother to check Costco's site? It's really easy to find out the answer to that question (I just did).

That's a great idea if it's an option.

FWIW: The safe needs to be bolted down for the warranty to be effective.

Part of the Rhino warranty information.

"The obligation of Rhino Metals, Inc. under this Warranty is contingent upon proper use, installation, and maintenance of the safe and shall not apply to safes or safe parts which have been neglected, misused, or exposed to extreme or unusual environments. Failure to bolt down the safe using factory pre-drilled holes voids this warranty. Any modifying or tampering with the safe which alters or affects the safe's use or operation voids the warranty. Without limit, this Warranty specifically excludes any liability for defects or damage caused or increased by the use of unauthorized parts. Upon purchase, the purchaser must promptly notify Rhino Metals, Inc. of any defects. The purchaser's remedies are solely limited to replacing parts or repair, and are at the discretion of Rhino Metals, Inc.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state."

Are these tings stable with only 2 bolts?

Heard that even bolted that they are not too stable with 2 bolts and that they should be really bolted down with 4 bolts.
Guess, according to the fellow calgunner, this would void the warranty.

Just got the latest Costco ad and the Bighorn safe deal is coming back to Costco.com on 10/3/13 for those that missed it last time around. $799.99 - $200 = $599.99

Anyone know how long it took, or if they can hold the safe? I'm going it buy it come 10/03/2013, but can't take delivery until 1-2 weeks later. Thoughts?

Based on prior posts in threads similar to this one, Bighorn has been very helpful, and the safe carries a lifetime warranty covering defects in material and workmanship (according to my warranty guide).

Costco has always been good about warrantying almost everything they sell but you have to take the safe to them to get a return.

I also purchased one of these in July; to date, I've had no issues.

Good luck, deviljon. Keep us posted.

Thanks. I'll be contacting bighorn first to see what steps they recommend taking. Good thing it isn't my only safe.

Mine has been working well. Has anyone done anything to there safe? I added a battery operated led light I purchase from costco. Works well if I need to get into middle of the night.

Got myself the same safe....its good but does fill up quickly. Just need to also add LEDS to light it up. Being in the closet, the room light doesn't really light it up.

Was able to get my safe lock working again. Apparently the battery I had would power the keypad but wasn't enough to engage the lock. All is good.

Anyway, this safe really doesn't hold much. Definitely upgrading to a bigger and stronger safe in the future but this is very good bang for the buck. Thanks
