Default a place to shoot 10/6/13

went to A Place to Shoot today and had a great time spent most of the day on range 5 shotgun trap --PULL-- then after a bit of bird busting I went over to the firecracker 5 stand and tested my luck. I haven't been their for over a year and they have upgraded the firecracker range. covered stands for those waiting their turn or just watching, 5 concrete shooting stands, etc.... the pics on their page are of the old style when they first started the firecracker range WAY better now

another great plus is that the ranges is all spread out so when im at range 5 shooting shotgun I never have to stop for anyone to go put targets out/up

another great point is the main RSO for the firecracker range: Mr. McClain. who is by far one of the nicest enthusiastic & fun range masters I have had any experience with. He's very helpful to the NEWBS that were in our group and even let them have a few mulligans when they where overwhelmed/lost. McClain got up and showed one of our group how to hold the shotgun properly and how to aim it better too. He also kept everyone safe making sure actions where open, pointed down range etc. He does have a sarcastic side but its all in good fun!!

went over to pistol ranges afterward and had another great time.

if the niners weren't playing I would have stayed longer and done the long range 308's and 223/556 stuff too but I had to watch our QB get pulled in the 4th b/c we just kept scoring too much!!! Go niners & thank you to a place to shoot for another great memory for the Newbs we had in our group and a great time for any firearms fan

I do look forward to trying my luck at the monthly competition they hold every last Sun of the month. This month being Oct. McClain said come & shoot in costume you can get a special secret prize....

and before anybody asks I do not work for their range I just had a great time their - Since I didnt have any rude RSO's scanning over my toys or ammo or telling me FUD about how my gun choices suck - I just wanted to share how I really enjoyed my day
