Looked like the trooper hit with his first round. Saw that going bad the second the he jumped out of the car. Good job by the trooper to keep his distance, even if he had gotten back in the car I doubt he would have approached.

Thanks for the video link. None of the news links I read had any indication of motive, anyone else find/read anything? I wonder if the uniform the suspect was wearing was his official uniform or? The video was blurry and I really didn't care to look close enough what style it was/if there were any correct markings on it. Just goes to show that anyone at anytime can turn a simple contact into a life and death situation...

Never trust a traffic stop.

No stop is routine.

Seems like that pendulum is about to shift.

I checked youtube on my phone (no access at work). It stated that the suspect was a US Army Veteran, but there is has been no known motive disclosed at this time.

Family said the usual "We had no idea" sort of things.

You're welcome, guys. Something can always be learned from videos like this. A few things that stood out to me were how immediately determined the bad guy was, how he was able to keep fighting and then flee after taking one in the chest, and how there are more and more guys out there who have military training and know how to engage with firearms.

Be safe!

The hands can kill you. Don't trust the unknown.

The trooper did right by continuing to give him commands. You could tell by his tone of voice that he knew something was up. Of course the fact that he was keeping his hand(s) out of sight the whole time.

Good shoot on the part of the officer. Good lesson for all of us. Stay safe guys.

Good video K! Good job to the trooper who, after being shot, remained calm enough to give out info to responding units.

Intense video. Just goes to show that even well placed shots will not stop an intent attacker.
