Ouch!!! That bites! Now you will be better informed and experienced going again. At least you didn't get into the final phase and have to repeat THAT again.

Most of those schools are taught with a lot of civilian contractors, which got furloughed.

Most of the GS instructors were willing to stick around for a few days to finish our training, but there was concern they wouldn't have funds to charter the buses to drive us off the mountain... so they pulled us out of the scenario early.

We have a school that's all contractors, they are still up. It's the GS/WG annual employees plus TADTAR that just evaporated.

It's the schools fault for conducting a course that went over the Fiscal Year mark. They should have started it earlier so this wouldn't have happened.

We ran out of fuel for our A schoolers to train today, had to transfer some from emergency reserve stocks.

That is BS....those seats were already scheduled, bought and paid for in CANTRAC. You should have been finished out and then training halted, even if they had to use AD to finish it out.

Roll, where do you teach? I was in Pensacola at AT A school for a few years.

Also, while we will still get our paychecks, the money for supplies, parts, consumables, etc is dry. I cant even order printer ink right now, and I am on deployment.

I'm up at the Seabee schoolhouse in Port Hueneme. I teach some of the contingency engineering courses.

From what I gather, while the seats may have been bought in CANTRAC some of the life support items may not have been included in the "total cost of course" (they usually aren't).

So when some boot EO has to drive around in the dozer yard, the penny pinchers will account for his dust mask, training pubs etc. But the PM on the equipment, lube and oil are usually the responbility of another maintenace unit. So the annual contract for the diesel wasn't renewed (or if it was renewed no one is available to validate the credit card buy) and we're stuck.

That's complete BS that you're jacked for supplies on deployment. You would *hope* that all the LS's made those big 4th quarter SERVMART runs but I guess not.

we are off of the NMCI teet, so to speak, so SERVMART doesnt have our printer ink, we have to open purchase it. We ordered it before this went down, but it still isnt here. We cant ship crap right now, etc. I am sure you know how it is.

The seat thing was mostly directed at Haas, but I get what you are saying with your stuff too. Last year when this went down, I was still in Pcola and we had to make a bunch of contingency plans on if/how to continue if it happened. It was such a CF.

I miss VC. I was stationed at Mugu for 5 years working on Hawkeyes. The best 5 years of my Navy life so far.

ETA: oh, and our det only has 2 LS's, one that is lazy as #&$) and an E2 that has no clue and has been in for all of about a minute. It is, how you say, interesting out here.
