I have not used one of these, BUT, it has a 4.3 out of 5 stars rating with a rating of 5338 customer reviews.

How BAD can it be for $50?

I bought one to install at a customer's house and they even sent me an e-mail telling me that if I needed anything to give them a call.

This company either is hiding something BIG or they have an AWESOME product. Depending on how well it performs I might get one for my house next.

I was going to recommend that exact same modem...

I am currently using Ciscos Lynksys 3500 and it has served me well but for the price, I would have chosen the media link if I had known about it.

I have that exact modem/router and it would always drop connections on media/streaming videos, otherwise it had a very FAST connection. I actually "upgraded" to the EA3500 from that modem/router.

What would flashing it do? Would it help the crappy signal and streaming video? Otherwise that modem is very fast compared to my $100 Cisco EA3500

DDWRT is the ****.

It is like Fast and Furious for Routers.

You take a super cheap router like a WRT54GS v1, v2, v3 etc and you reflash it with a custom hacked firmware and then when it wakes up you have a bionic router that can shoot lasers and stop bullets apparently. Look up DDWRT and read the wiki page. It is crazy. Like making a Corvette LS1 killer from a 1981 Toyota Corona...

Would it still matter if its a wireless G and not N? Also, would flashing it fix the dropped signal problem?

EDIT:My bad, I have the Linksys WCG200 http://www.ebay.com/itm/LINKSYS-WCG2...item51b28f8b4f

So no flashy for this one then?

I mean, I get it, but what does it do that a normal wireless router cant do?
