Default Just came in the mail: COE

Those three magic letters stand for Certificate of Eligibility, thanks to all of you who advised and guided me through the process, so now according to the certificate "there is nothing that would prohibit the individual from acquiring or possessing a firearm". yeah!

Find yourself a FFL with cheap transfer fees and start ordering C&R handguns online. You can take them home the same day (if you have your 03 FFL as well).

How long did DOJ take to get it to you from the day you were printed and how long is it effective?

Not sure about new ones but my renewal just came in about 10 days, surprised the heck out of me. California bureaucracy being fast and efficient? Unheard of!

Macgearailt it took my girlfriend about a month from the day she was printed until she received her coe. They are good for one year and cost $22 bucks to renew. Definitely worth the hassles getting one when walking out of a gun store here in CA with your new C&R purchase in hand and a big smile on your face.

I just got printed today and mailed it off. I mainly got mine so I can bypass the 1:30 wait. Hopefully I can find a dealer that will honor it.

In theory, yes. In reality, time will tell. California is a large part of J&Gs, Wideners, SOG, Century, Classics business. It may be up to us to "teach" them preemptively, that those of us with FFL03 + COE are still GTG, the only difference is on our end, not theirs.

All I'm seeing is the Personal Firearms Eligibility Check Application. Do we need that too or is my internet browser being screwy with the link?

No, he posted the wrong link. Here is the correct one:

http://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/pd...rms/coeapp.pdf

I just did it yesterday.

Ya, I also think the larger dealers will figure it out pretty quickly, Gunbroker sellers will be a different story. I think we will see a lot more "No Sales To California" in auctions.

Just got my renewal today, it took 23 days. 5 days faster than last years.
