Default Looking for a good SKS deal?

This only applies if you are going to be in Prescott, Arizona, perhaps on a J&G trip in the next few days. Right down the street, on Gurley, is Battermans Auctions and Antiques http://www.battermans.com/ I always visit when I am in the area. Today they had two decent Chinse SKS. While these were no beauty queens, the price was very good, $259.00. The guy had two of them and I think he will go lower on a package deal for both. Barrel was gunked with cosmo, metal clean, perhaps about 60% bluing, wood was decent.

So if you are driving through Prescott in the next few days, take a look, good prices in Chinese Triangle 26 SKS, definitely not Sino-Soviets like Classic has had lately.

Enjoy!

Buy 'em while you can. The SKS seems to have a year (one legislative session's) probation before our overlords deem them assault weapons.

I thought 26-triangle SKS were the original sino-soviets?

I am glad I don't travel like you do for work capybara because I would never come home with any money. my wife is tired of hearing me say I need this before the end of the year and its not even October yet.

This. Afterwards, they'll go after "Sniper Rifles". AKA bolt action rifles.

Let me know what you thought of them if you see/buy them SVT.

I agree Ronnie, their goal is total disarmament, nothing less.

Went by today... Looked at both. Only one was all matching. it was a however a nice all stamped matched 7 digit (1959) Chinese rifle.

Long story short $250 later it's in my garage all taken apart and 90% cleaned...

Beautiful mirror bore and a clean breach face... Most of the wear is from carrying and not shooting..

I'll take some pics when I get it all cleaned up and back together..

Thanks again for the heads up.

Let me know the next time your in Prescott. Maybe we can get together.

Nice pick up SVT, I wish I could find something like that here. $250 is a steal for a matching numbers SKS.

I was THIS close to buying that rifle but I need more diversity in my collection so ended up with a Winchester '94 instead. Glad it went to a loving home SVT, I know you will enjoy it and yes, it was a killer deal, huh?

Will definitely look you next time I am in your neck of the woods.

Well here are the pics. As I said it's all matching down to the extractor, gas piston, rear sight and gas tube, which are EP'ed with the SN..Virtually no internal wear.... Great little rifle!!!

Thanks again Capybara!!
