Default Poll: When was the last time you took someone to shoot for the first time?

I took a friends niece to the range today and let her get her first shooting experience. My wife got to show off her Sig 9mm and I bought a 22 pistol and rifle for the girl to try. I thought I'd let others share their stories...

Wednesday! I invited a woman who has never shot before to our CalGuns monthly shoot at Iron Sights. She tried someone's Taurus .36 spl revolver along with my Glock 19 and my Ruger Mark III. She had a great time!

Last Sunday, took my wife for the first time to shoot up at american shooter in Kearny Mesa. started her out on a 22lr and my sig228... after an hour she thinks she's an expert after going thru an entire brick of 22. She had a blast.

Been a few months since either my friends are shooters, have already been taken by myself or wish to have nothing to do with guns.

The last time I went had a girl shoot her first gun. With my instruction she hit the first clay that launched. And hit like 16/25. She outshot this macho hotshot next to her which made everyone laugh.

I NEVER try to go alone. I always try to take someone with me, especially someone who has never fired a firearm before.

Plus if someone is there, I'm not all alone to go through ammo as quick.

A couple of months ago, I took my brother's friend. I want to take my girlfriend soon, and I've barely got enough ammo to cover it.

I'd shoot a lot more these days if I could find more ammunition. I guess that's everyone's story, though.

Not his first time shooting, but two or three weeks ago my best friend and I went to Iron Sights. He'd never shot a rifle before so we got a couple handguns and a bolt-action .308, he shot very well.

April 4th, our anniversary. The daughter of my wifes best friend, called and asked my wife if I could go to the range with her and teach her to shoot. She did real good with a XD9 for her first time out.

Default "First Shoot"

I took one of our Visiting Hospice Nurses out 2 weeks ago and she
shot a .38 special and a 9mm semi-auto...

She really enjoyed it, is committing to purchasing her own....may down-shift to a .380 or .22 semi auto!

Lots of fun...

Took a friend last weekend. She's very girly and had been asking me to take her shooting for weeks.

She shot my CZ 9mm and eventually made it to my AR. She was wearing a low cut shirt and had a few shell casings fly in her cleavage. I offered to get them out but she was a tad embarrassed.

Few weeks ago, I took my co-worker to the range. Then, I took him and his father-in-law to the range two weeks ago.

Both of them are not really a "first-timer", as they have handled firearms before, but that was a long time ago. However, neither my coworker nor his father-in-law have shot revolver before. So, these was their first time to shoot a revolver.

I let them try my Taurus Model 65 (357cal, 4 inches barrel) revolver. They seemed quite shocked about the weight of my revolver (38oz when empty) and its trigger pull (I guess about 12 lbs for double action), but they said it wasn't unacceptable.

Took my nephew (17 years old) last Sunday. Shot .22LR Browning Buckmark pistol, and Mossberg 500 12g shotgun. I made him watch Youtube safety videos a couple of days prior and of course, gave him a safety class before we started shooting.
