Default Tractor Garands in October?

I read a while back that the CMP was planning on releasing some International Harvester Garands in October. It wasn't a reliable source or anything, I think it was a fellow calgunner. Anyone know if there's any truth to this?

After the first of the year sometime, I think was the latest from Orest.

That was the last thing I heard, next year. They aren't going to be cheap and I can't recall, but I thought I heard they were going to be sold through the auction, not just first come, first served. That method would raise the most amount of money for the CMP.

I have to say, if I could even afford an IHC, I don't think I would buy one because they are too valuable to shoot. If you can't shoot a gun, it is not very appealing to me.

I love my tractor gun and take it out almost every time I go shooting. it isn't a safe queen. I guess since I only paid $310 for it, I don't look at it as being a $$$$ gun.

OD Green Glock 22 for sale, $525

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

FrontSight Training Course certificates available $25, PM for details on them and other options.

Ive been thinking of joining CMP and I think I get the concept of it. You have to join a club thats affiliated with it to be able to purchase from them. What exactly do I have to do though? its 22 dollars for a club thats reasonably close to me https://store.crpa.org/ , do you have to visit regularly or just pay the fee and your good to go?

Why would they stop shipping? They will just have to ship to an FFL01 but we still have not received verification if they will ship directly to FFL03 + COE. By the letter of the law, they should be able to.

Granted that was in the late 90's when they were all $310 and it was luck of the draw. You could write a note to request something particular and if they could fill in in the the batch of rifles they were working on, they'd hook you up.

That is because Justin is too lazy to go get his COE... Heck my girlfriend just got hers a couple of days ago! Step it up Justin or Melanie is going to buy a couple of IHC's and rub them in your face.

I was also hearing that once we see the IHC's hit the market, the end is finally upon us...Rumor or truth?

IRC, Orest said something along those lines last year or early this year. Simple way to find out, go to the CMP forums and research the "Ask Orest" thread. Don't know if it's the truth but that sounds familiar.

Didn't Orest just say something to the effect they had 2 to 3 years of Garands left at current rates and the Cornbinder Garands (was it 2000 or 3000was the magic number of items) will go on sale after the first of the year? Wasn't that in his last email to people on the CMP email list. I didn't keep it but I think that what he said. I don't remember if he said they'd be on the auction (to maximize income) or not.

Yep the sticky note method worked all but one time fer me, they always came through with what I had hoped for. Never did get that 1939 Gas Trap I was hoping for (never asked either). Did score a Rock Island USMC rebuilt 1903 on the CMP Lottery for $160 though. Those WERE the days!
Bought a Woodless Garand at the first Reno show handed to me by Orest himself. They only came to Reno twice I think. There were alot of guys just being jerks, I think that was one of the reasons CMP gave up the effort to come to Reno.

Whats the point, might as well just ship it to an 01ffl since it would have to be registered anyways.

I picked up that rifle because CMP IHC Rifles will be mixmasters, just like their WRA rifles. The only part you can count on to be IHC wil be recieiver. If any corrects are found they willgo to auction
I have been looking for awhile now and was lucky to find this one

As you say "mixmasters" as their WRA's were and Auction fer the "all correct or close to correct" IHCs. Doubt they'll let any nearly correct ones slip through.

Orlando you did very well congrats! (I'm sure it wasn't cheap) Kinda like a logger getting a IHC TD-24 fer Christmas.
