Default Skeet Shooting

Where is a good place to go skeet shooting in Ventura County?

I know a couple of guys that make the drive out from Oxnard to Oaktree. I think they mentioned it was about an 1 1/4 hrs drive.

The range offers skeet, trap and sporting clays. The grill is pretty good and affordable as well. It's suppose to be "members only", but you can pay for the day (or sometimes most of the time, no one checks). They also have a rifle and pistol range so you could spend the day out there if you like.

Good luck.

Don't "quote me" on this, but you could look into the Winchester Gun Club/Range in Santa Barbara as well. I think they do skeet out there. I know it's private but I also think they have a public range or at least open to the public on certain days/times.

Membership isn't required at all at Oaktree. Skeet and Trap you pay by the round, sporting clays you pay per clay. Membership just gets you a discount on rounds, and free shotgun rentals if you want to use one of theirs.

I miss the old trap shooting club off Vinyard. Those were good times!

That would have been Los Cazadores, I used to go. But it was Trap, not Skeet, shooting in the river bottom. Wish those old dudes were still out there. You would think with all of the open land in the east county that someone would open a gun club/range.

Winchester Valley in SB has a good skeet range. Open to the public on weekends it's pretty reasonable.

Winchester Canyon Gun Club has both trap and skeet. They are open Wed, Sat & Sun. 10-3:30. Ten dollars per round for non-members.
