there is no CA laws regarding 6 or 8 rounds in a shotgun. the only CA restriction would be at 10 rounds for a tubular magazine on a shotgun (other than a lever-action shotgun) and that deals with large-cap magazine regs.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

After reading a bit it looks like there was a federal importation ban at some point of Semi auto pistol grip shotguns with 6 shot capacity or more. Which made a lot confusion. I guess its time to buy an 8 shot tube for mine.

Also I have a HK labeled Benelli M1super 90 and it fires birdshot with no problems.

My HK labled M1s90 shoots everything just fine including wally world bulk packs. They do take some breaking in so if the gun is new, shoot it a bunch. Also make sure you do not have too much weight on the gun. The weight will counteract the inertia drive. Another thing is for people with pistol grips. If you flinch/shove the gun when firing, you can also counteract the inertia drive so that is something to be mindful of. For weight, I have a surefire, sidesaddle and 9 round tube(for IPSC) and it works fine.

How u hold the M1 while firing also play a big role how well it cycles. I shoot everything from bird to min round with zero issue.

I have an old HK marked M1S90. The guy I got it from shot it a fair amount and upgraded the charging handle to GG&G, the sights to trit front/ghost ring rear and a Surefire Fore end. As far as I know all springs are stock. It runs great with Federal Low Base Flight Control Wad 00 Buck and that's all I require of it. If it runs on the low base stuff, it will also eat the full power from my experience. I don't have kids in the home and if I had an issue with over penetration, with the internal the field of fire from my bedroom, it should all head to the back yard and be contained by block walls. OO Buck works fine for me. It also eats S&B 00 buck, but didn't really like the weak Fiochhi stuff I tried once at the range.

I did take it to Oak Tree once and try Skeet with it. It sucked and I nearly got laughed out of the place with it and rightly so. That's not what it was built for in it's current config. It is quite competent at doing what it was designed for.
