What could be bad about shooting for a weekend on the newly laid out Raahauge's range in August? It won't be that hot. We'll have the pop-ups for shade and you can bring your own to add provided you have stakes for it - it gets windy during midday. See what you missed at July's shoot in photos here
Bring out those rifles, new or old or borrowed, and put them and yourself through a good shakeout of a weekends shooting, relearning the fundamentals of field marksmanship and sharing some stories of some outstanding folks who showed what could be done with such skills.
We are very appreciative of the ammunition situation and will make the best use of the minimal number of rounds for skills teaching and its up to you how many attempts at making the Expert level Rifleman score on the Army Qualification Test (forty rounds per AQT) which we shoot at most 8 or so on Sunday. As always, bring or borrow a .22 to practice and learn the muscle memory and techniques on Saturday and break out the centerfire on Sunday if you want to minimise ammo for that.
This event is 25M only, but .22 and centerfire (up to 8mm) are welcome.
For best results make sure your rifle can take a 1 1/4 inch wide GI sling but as usual we'll do our best to help you get the best out of whatever you bring.
