Talking Latest Purchase

Over the weekend I pick a Remington 1903a3, from a fellow cal-gunner
Yea it's been (semi) sporterized (and I'll plan to un-sporterize it in the near future) but it's still a 1903a3!
I snapped a few pic's, hopefully I'll be able to take a few more:

Nice save. I'm sure you'll do right by her.

Congratulations on your new 'A3. I have restored several over the last couple of years and they are fairly easy to put back into military trim. Your barrel has been replaced, so there is no need to try for absolute accuracy unless you plan to replace the barrel also. Too bad they cut that stock, it has some really nice grain to it.

Just to give you some inspiration, here is the last one I completed a few months ago. Serial number puts it as July '43 production, barrel date 5-43. Note that the grain pattern on the stock is very similar, they could have come from the same tree.

Sounds like you have an excellent candidate for "re-militarizing".

That should make for a fun project to re-militarize it. Congrats!

looks really good. looks more 50s/60s/ sporterized than bubbified/douchified. keep the thread alive when you giter done!

I like this term - "re-militarize."

Definitely the way to go.

Nice rifle Dennis. Around here, we take our rifles to the RMZ.

RE- militarized zone.

I've got one that I picked up several years ago that needs the same treatment . I too would be interested in seeing how yours turns out.
