Default savage b mag

I received a phone call from my LGS yesterday and they told me my Savage B-Mag has shown up. Today I made my way down over so I could start her California prison term. On first inspection the rifle looks to be rushed out of the production facility. The front sling swivel is not straight and the left side of the barrel touches the stock (nothing a bit of sand paper won't fix.) The trigger felt very crisp and rather light even at the factory settings. The "cock on close" bolt is a little weird, I'm not used to the bolt being so hard to close. The rifle is very light but I think quality could have been addressed better. I'm not worried about the stock that much rumor is boyds is making one that should be out within a few months. I'm glad to see these have made it to California and wonder how many are in the Bay Area? The next part of this journey will be hunting down ammo.

So, it is on par with your spelling and grammar? Haha, sorry, man. It's just hard to comprehend a post like that. But I do really want to hear about the rifle, so don't let me being a jerk off scare you away from following up.

Why would you buy something that "first looks quality control was thrown out the window" ???

Probably because it's a rimfire that shoot 3k feet a second? That's why I want a rifle in this caliber, but I will wait to see if some produces a decent, heavy barrel version, and see how ammo availability shakes out.

I have taken the time to edit the post. No worries about the razing I received a lovely California education.

The reason I would buy one even questioning the quality is simple. This rifle could be a great rifle or a crap rifle, but I at least have one and if I have any issues I can send it back. The only real quality issues were the sling swivel and some stock finishing (cheap plastic).

Glad you didn't take it harshly.

Interesting to hear the barrel/stock fitment issue. I have a Remington 700 that does the same. It isn't a big deal, but it does bother me.

Let me know how it shoots. I am fascinated with my Savage in .17HMR and am hopeful with the .17WSM

The battle of Hornady v. Winchester.
