Question Kimber commander 9x18 Mak conversion from .45acp

I didn't know what subforum to post this under. Here goes:
I am looking for the easiest way to convert a Kimber HD Pro Carry 2 commander size (4inch barrel) chambered in .45acp to a 9x18 Makarov.
Reasons are economical ones. But reasons aside, any input as to how to go about doing this conversion is really appreciated.
I am also open to the conversion to Tokarev barrel.

Any ideas? pointers?
Thanks in advance.

Not to thread crap or anything, I don't think it would be very economical in the long run unless you get free 9x18 or somethin

Since nobody makes such a thing you will have to get it done yourself.
1. Get a 9mm slide, the breech face diameter may need to be opened up just a bit. Adjust extractor as needed.
2. Get a 9mm barrel, ream the chamber to the Mak size, staying 1mm back from the 9mm chamber's end. I think you will have enough case mouth shoulder for it to work. If not, you will have to start with a barrel blank and machine it fully. Maybe it's not such a big deal to start from a blank because if you re-chamber a 9mm barrel you will still have to ream out the barrel to match the Mak's larger bullet diameter.
3. Use a 9mm mag but you will have to shorten the follower and put a spacer in the back of the mag to hold the rounds in the correct position.
You will also need a shorter length front-to-back follower spring once you put the spacer in.
4. Use soft recoil springs.

or

Buy a Makarov or CZ82 for around $300 and go shooting.

^^^This^^^

It's going to take a custom made barrel, figure on $400+ for that.
Then a new slide with modifications.

If you can really save more than about $900 over the life of the gun, then I guess it makes sense.
If you just want one because it's different, then its worth unlimited funds...
