No freaking kidding. I am trying to amass as much .22 lr as I can before the mail order ban happens.

I am at 20,000 rounds now, my goal is to triple that.

Just cleaned up my closet today, have 12,000 rounds of .22lr. Avg. .058 cents a round. Most was at .038 cents but wanted better ammo so have been upgrading the quality, Eley, Wolf, SK, Rem. Still have 4 bricks of Fed HP, which my .22 don't like but will keep on hand for a while for family/friends. Really have not looked to add in the last month or so. Will start looking again next week. My Marlin 60 loves Golden Bullets. In the last few months have sold about 5000 rounds, shot another 5000 rounds of .22lr. Been going to the ranges about 8 to 10 times a month. That's not counting my other guns that I shoot. Last good deal I found was about 2 or 3 months ago at WM, Win 555 for $24.95 a brick, 3 bricks.
See you at the range.

I have 20,000 rounds that I paid 15.95 a brick for almost a year ago. I have not shot a single round in almost a year now. I am not going to participate in this stupidity. Of all things, 22, the only reason I ever shot the stuff is because it was cheap. I have enough to hunt squirrels for 5 life times. I have pursued other hobbies and could care less if I ever go to a range again at this point.

Shipping is always a killer. I never buy ammo online unless I get a free shipping code. Just not worth it. I would rather buy local or not shoot.

Buy something else with the ammo to off set shipping costs. You can keep other stuff you need in your Midwayusa shopping cart, and when .22 lr comes in stock, put it in the cart and checkout.

Personally, I enjoy shooting enough I am willing to pay to play. You only live once.

Think of shipping this way ... could you pay some guy to drive from MO (where MidwayUSA is) with a box of .22lr and deliver it to your doorstep? Do you think he'd charge you more than $15 to do it? Or how much time/money would it cost you to go to MO and get the box?

Well, that's how I try to think about it as I get reamed for shipping ...

I would say you overpaid. I got 2k plastic ammo can of M22 today for 109.99+tax with a coupon locally. But it did take some patience.

I really like GB's as well. Maybe the newer batches are better but I've good luck with them. Out of my Mk1, 10/22, bearcat, and mp15-22.

Honestly, I'm not as upset with the prices now as I am with availability. I've found plenty of powder and primers for all my other stuff. I've seen 556 available for a long time. Prices high but still available. And now prices are coming down for it. 22's are still my favorite thing to shoot and my boys love to shoot too. Fortunately I found several bricks either online or in the marketplace so at he least we can shoot. But we go less frequently and shoot a little less. Trying to stretch it out.

I'll be happier when shelves have ammo regardless the price.

Gosh, I remember when Fed Bulk 550 pack was $7.98 @ WallyWorld, might have actually been cheaper than that. WWB 9mm was about $9/100rnds & WWB 45 about $17/18 for 100rnds. . . . . . if I knew, if we all knew. . . . better than stocks

End of last year, even when things were getting scarce, I sold off my stash of SK Jadg & Wolf Match on CGN for $50/500 Round Brick & CCI SV for $28-30/500 Round Brick . . . .Sold it here for what I paid or less than, ate the shipping.

"WE" are driving up these prices.

Wish we could have a dont buy ____ till prices come down period.

34 a brick isn't bad. Right before the panic I picked up a case of quiet 22lr for 28 a brick, bought a case for free shipping. Our club has a "silent night" shoot where we shoot 22's with quiet ammo.

Looking on craigs list it still seems to be hovering around $50 a brick ftf. And local shops are still having a tough time keeping it on their shelves. A buddy just told me he could only buy 100 pack at our local gun shop. I haven't seen any real relief yet but it is encouraging that some folks are able to buy it mail order.

...i have the same story and i feel exactly the same way...not gonna sell what ammo inventory i got...when me and friends want to go plinking somewhere someday i'll have the ammo to do so at my leisure...and when the day comes when i'm tapped out of ammo, who knows; maybe the rimfires become permanent wall decorations...

shooting targets and plinking is way fun but it has never been an obsession.

+10 .. Best chuckle all morning .. LMAO. I'm way out in the woods .. closest WM's are 50 and 80 miles .. but I've seen the WM vids on U-tube. My best buys have been Cabela's 1K M22's for under 6 cents per round shipped, and 3 bricks of sub-sonic Aquila from Midway at about 8.3 cents per round shipped. The real drops are being seen in the other common calibers, like M855 down from 80 to 49 cents per round. That's M855 (NATO) .. not XM855. If you need some .416 or .458 .. oh well

I miss the days of 7 dollar box of 500 and sales that sold 2 boxes of 500 for same 7 dollars.

I remember buckets of 22lr for almost nothing. Back when I could fill my mini-bike for .28c per gallon for premium.

Colt AR's were dirt cheap and Russian AK's with paratrooper stock and milled receiver were 99 bucks. The chinese milled were 79. A case of 556 was 75.00. You could get any semi-auto rifle you wanted with NO wait. AK, AR, UZI, MAC10, HK91, HK93, Galil, FNFAL, Dragonov's (tiger) etc. Buckets of OFB were 15.00. Cost me almost nothing to reload (like 33 dollars per K)

I miss those days
