Default AR-15 Side Charging Handle, Drop-In No Gunsmithing Required

I have been working on this design for over a year, developing and testing different designs and alloys.

It is a no gun smithing required upgrade for the ar-15, it fixes the design flaw of the original charging handle, allowing the operator to maintain his main hand grip on the fire control, while his off hand pulls the side charger back and engages the bolt lock.

The body of the side charger is machined from billet 7075 with a heat treat, it is extremely durable, and VERY rigid, which is important to avoid flex or torque.

The internal parts are made from steel.

The finish is anodized black, with the GFG logo cnc engraved.

Most optics will fit without issue, if there is a clearance issue, a 10$ 1/4 riser on the optic rail will fix it.

I have charged the first part from this prototype run over a thousand times, the only wear has been anodizing beginning to fade on the right side of the charger where it sits inside the weapon.

These come with a 5 year warranty, if it breaks send it back for a new one, no questions asked.

The price is 149.00

Single
http://www.ebay.com/itm/271238704369...84.m1558.l2649

Dealer prices are available, a minimum order of 5 side chargers qualifies for 33% off list.

5 Pack
http://www.ebay.com/itm/271241822690...84.m1558.l2649

This is the initial pre production run, so suppliers are extremely limited, keep that in mind.

Is there any way to purchase with a USPS MO? I want to buy one of these to t&e but do not know ProPay nor does their web site tell me anything about how it works for the customer as it appears to be oriented toward vendors and charities. Unless, of course, I just missed it! In any case, good luck with the charging handle. Been wanting to go the side charging route but, I haven't been keen on the available components nor the $$ involved. Your solution seems to be an elagant one.

Looks pretty awesome. I will have to pick one up when I have the funds. Best of luck on getting these out to AR owners!

Do you know how much clearance this would have with an Aimpoint PRO on the upper, with their large knob that comes on their mount?

Dude, dosen't that mount spin around? Just spin the knob to the other side and re mount the optic, you won't have any issues.

No, this will not be the final version, my designs always evolve and improve over time.

For example, the next version will have type III anodizing.

Nice quality!! Clean slide..

THIS THING IS AWESOME - I can charge the bolt with my left hand, hold it back and press the bolt catch with the same left hand... No way to do that with traditional charging handle!!

Thanks OP for a great product!!

Don't get me wrong, I think you have a great thing here, considering the other options for us, but judging by a lot of facebook responses from current AR owners i think you would attract more with the prices mentioned above. Something to think about.
