I got the bent bolt from Jim the Boltman. Very high quality.

http://www.angelfire.com/gundam/boltman/bolt_work/

I'm bringing it on Aug. 3.

Not on the 1st, but on the 3rd. Sure, you can shoot it. You'll love the new scope.

What is this bent bolt you speak of?

Hit the link above for Jim the Boltman and you'll see the options for bent bolts for Mosin Nagants.

If you use a long eye relief scope and mount it over the rear sight, you don't need a bent bolt handle. But if you put on a short eye relief scope, you'll need the bent bolt to clear the scope--well, unless you want to chamber one round, then mount the scope... ;-)

You'll see an example at the shoot.

Good on ya, Pete, for changing the title.

It has been a lot cleaner lately. I heard a few people have been cited for bringing/shooting/leaving junk there. Word gets around.

I knew I had a calguns username! It was fun today.

On a side note: is there any way to change my username to calrugerfan? I want it to match my gunbroker name.

Looks like they had a 4 acre fire out at the clay pits today. Not sure if it got any of the range or not. Pictures I saw looked like it was back towards the far berms, but not sure.

Send a PM to Kestryll requesting a username change, he should be able to do it.

Dang wish I was a bit closer that looks like a cool spot...But it is a 3hr drive for me...I may have to check it out one of these weekends!

How far is the longest shot there? I have been itchin to test my AR out past 100 yards but none of the local ranges have anything further than that.
Also as long as i pick up after myself can i bring a dueling tree and some metal targets i made? I have a gong and some other little ones to hang up.

About 550 yards to the "butte". Equates to about 500 meters if you speak that.

very busy on weekends. but if you get there early you can get a table. its first come first served. no range officers just pay attention and always call for a cease fire to go down range. weekdays arent bad and you can bring your own steel targets,i take mine all the time. you can shoot any ammo and shoot as slow or as fast as you want.

Maybe some 9mm dies? Powder?

I haven't seen a 16 gauge in 30 years. Got some .32 S&W, though.

.32. Is that what they call "32 short"?

Yea, what am I going to do with 16 gauge?

BTW: I got new glasses from a real eye doctor, I might (MIGHT) be able to see the 400 mtr berm.

I may be there shortly after 7. Due to the old truck being full with other stuff, I may actually have to buy some coffee instead of making it. The coffee house doesn't open until 7 AM on Saturdays. I'll be sure to have plenty of coffee and cups, though.

Nice cans! I can vouch for them being the nicest "used" cans I have seen.
