If they fill small orders first, they fill more orders with the ammo that has come in and make more happy customers than those of us with bigger orders. I would not put it past them to do so.

This^^^^^ plus:

Talked to Cabelas today. The 400 round containers are boxed differently than the 800 round from UMC according to the salesperson. She indicated that is why the smaller orders are shipping before the 800 round orders because they are prepacked. Really? You cant just slap two of those in a box and send it to make the 800 round orders? She said she would forward that comment to management. Sure she will. This all sounds like BS to me but appears to be why the 400 round shipments may be going out before the 800 round orders based on disregard to the order chronology. She indicated the manufacturer has pushed back the 800 round versions until the end of July. The saga of Cabelas befuddled backorder process continues........

I guess they should have said "sometime before 2014"

If Cabela's wanted to keep things simple, they should just fulfill orders chronologically as they were received, regardless of quantity ordered.

Considering the other PMC deal they just had, they must have gotten in a few pallets of PMC or something!

I placed my order on Dec 20 for 800 rds. I called today to get an update and the lady said it's still on back order and will ship as soon as they get it in. I'm just glad they didn't cancel my order.

I would take that offer in a heartbeat, but I have not gotten that call & my order was several days after yours. So I may not qualify for it.

Missed a call earlier in the week with no message. Decided to look the number up and it turns out to be Cabelas. Just spoke to the CSR and they were calling to see if I would accept the pmc substitute when I came in. Same quantity, price, and dry box. What the heck, I'll bite.

WTF? I literally just sent an email to Cabelas yesterday asking if I could substitute and they said they were unable to substitute because the rounds they were getting in were selling out to fast. But then you guys are actually getting called by them asking if you would substitute? Sigh....

Just got a call from Cabela's asking if I wanted to substitute PMC .223 for $50 more. She said they had no idea when the UMC stuff would be in. I left mine on backorder.

Alright, I responded to the email they sent me, and they sent another response.

I'd suggest that YOU call them and asking for the substitution of PMC at the same price as this deal was. I did that two weeks ago and last week I received my order fulfilled with PMC at the same price per round as this deal. It was a long wait but worth the many phone calls to Cabela's. Ask to speak with a supervisor or manager if the first person you speak with says they can't make an exception.

This.

The offer to sub in PMC for $50 more puts the "deal" at basically the same price/round as the recent $499 for 1200 PMC rounds deal Cabela's was offering.

So I wanted to see how it was going to shake out before I posted, but I contacted them on Friday by chat and they told me "you were on the list to call". So, they made the offer and I took it. Just today I see that it "shipped" and have the tracking #. A 7 month wait is about to come to an end it seems.

UPDATE: got it, the 7 month wait has ended. Now, I just need the 7 month wait on my 22lr filled.

This isn't going very smoothly for Cabela's. I got the "substitute" PMC phone call on 6/29. Of course I agreed to switch out the UMC order for the "in-stock" PMC.

After waiting and waiting for a shipping number, I called to find out what the hold up is. Oops, Cabela's "Oversold" the PMC ammo and is now out of stock. With that, they canceled my back-ordered UMC order from December, made a new order for PMC for a higher price, and now can't send out the order due to having no stock.

Price went up about $50..

1. I'm over the whole "waiting" deal
2. The PMC is better ammo so my anus hurts less
