Default My HD 870

Started life as a 6+1 Express 12ga with an 18.5" barrel

Ive since added the following:
Blackhawk Gen2 specops stock
Magpul forend with 2" rail section
Offset light mount
Streamlight 88032 protac
Tacstar 6 shell side saddle
clip on green fiber optic front sight
no namer 1 point sling

I plan on switching out the stock follower/mag spring for GG&G and Wolff products as I've had the factory spring bind on me more than once and cause loading issues.

I shoot left handed so the rear shell in the saddle has to be on top as in the opposite position it makes contact with my hand/knuckle when fired.

Awesome set up.

Is the stock working ok for you? I've heard mixed reviews about the spring loaded stocks. I like the pistol grip and the adjustable length of pull.

The single point sling is aldo pretty cool, thats something I've been meaing to learn. I'm assuming you have the sling over your shoulder while steading your right hand on the buttstock near your right-butt-cheek.

Nice setup! I have the same gun just haven't done any mods to it. This is similar to what I'd like to do though. Like that front sight.

It has a fair amount of cheek slap, but Ive been told my stance may be incorrect and i will attempt to fix that, but the stock eats alot of recoil.

And no, I shoot left handed, hence why the sling mount is on the right side of the stock. Left hand rests on the buttstock or pistol grip near my left cheek, right hand comes across to the forend and into shouldered position.

Thanks! I initially had the light mount on the right side of the forend, but it smashed into my thumb a few too many times and was moved.

Im also considering a vangcomp big button safety because the trigger guard is recessed into the grip and harder to access with my thumb while shooting left handed.

A front site should not be able to move, the forend of a shotgun should have nothing on it. Mossberg 500 has much better ergo's for a lefty shooter.

Thanks! I like it because should i need to drop my shotgun for whatever reason it will hang to my side while still allowing movement.

Well, as the brass bead sucks, I found a $10 alternative that makes target acquisition alot faster for me, and it fits quite snugly. Once it was on (struggle in itself) I had a hell of a time moving it to line up with the bead so I think itll be ok! Im used to shooting break open over/unders for trap and doubles, this is simply an HD gun/fun shooter.

Barrel/magtube clamp style mounts are ugly to me, and mine is set up within finger reach not requiring me to use a silly pressure pad or remove my hand from the forend. I also dislike mossbergs top of the receiver safety design because with a pistol grip you have extra hand movements!
